Iced Blueberry Matcha Latte

Matcha is amazing! It is finely powdered green leaves, so it comes as a powder.

When the water is boiling, you need to portion it in your matcha bowl.
Next, place ice cubes in your mug of choice.
Then add boiling water and whisk it, insuring that the powder has dissolved.

Resolutions Check In

Hey everyone! I made a list of all the goals I hope to achieve for my 27th birthday. Since my 26th birthday was 26 days ago, I thought this would be the perfect day to reflect on my goals.

Here’s a list of my goals…

  1. Exercise, yoga, meditate every day
  2. Read for at least 30 minutes a day
  3. Finish writing my book by my 27th birthday
  4. Volunteer
  5. Turn my passion into a career
  6. Don’t fall behind with medical exams and medical health
  7. Travel to two new places
  8. Read at least 52 books
  9. Journal every night
  10. Purge my things for once and for all
  11. Find a new place to live with my boyfriend
  12. Save $10,000 in a year (with help from my boyfriend)
  13. Try a new recipe once a week
  14. Pay off all of my debt
  15. To keep a day planner and keep up with deadlines and goals
  16. Get up early
  17. Get into the routine of meal prepping again
  18. Go to bed at a decent time
  19. Make a budget and actually stick to it
  20. Have a month no spend on take out or any unnecessary shopping
  21. Give myself something relaxing and rewarding (massage, facial, pedicure and manicure).
  22. Save at least 10% of my earnings
  23. Watch less TV
  24. Donate more to others
  25. Drink more water
  26. Start a new tradition with my boyfriend
  1. Yoga and meditation didn’t happen right away, but it’s slowly becoming a habit. I am feeling much better since I have started my day with those two habits.
  2. This one has been the easiest one to get into the habit of. It has been helping me read a lot of my books.
  3. I haven’t written much of my book, but I have been planning on an idea, and thinking of what can happen next. There is still time to complete this goal.
  4. Unfortunately, because of Covid-19, there isn’t many if any opportunities around, so this is one that I haven’t been able to do.
  5. My absolute goal is to be my own boss and to not have to work for someone by working towards their goal. I would like to become a full time blogger. I am still in the research process of gathering information for myself and trying to think of the next steps to move forward with my goals.
  6. This one is still a work in progress, but I have been heading in the right direction.
  7. Where I am living there are still travelling restrictions, so unfortunately this one will have to wait. But I have decided on wanting to travel to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I’ll let my boyfriend brainstorm some places we can travel to. Although this year we are focusing on paying off our debts, so we won’t be travelling anywhere too far.
  8. I have been on par with this goal since I have read four books already. My goal is to read one book a week.
  9. To be honest, aside from blogging, I haven’t written in my journal at all. I am going to add this in my bedtime routine.
  10. I have started a new challenge for myself which is to get rid of one item a day. And once I gain more confidence, I can purge even more. Perhaps I can purge more things a day.
  11. My boyfriend and I have discussed that we would like to celebrate my 27th goal in our own place. Although we haven’t narrowed it to a location yet, nor discussed finances or a budget for our new place. That will come in due time.
  12. Saving $10,000 is going to be the most challenging but exciting goal so far. I know that a portion of that will be for our emergency fund, but the remaining portion will be for our travelling fund and new apartment fund — which is really exciting.
  13. I think I may have to modify for trying a new recipe every two weeks.
  14. This way will come in due time. My boyfriend and I are in the process of making and sticking to a budget. So we have been setting aside some money every time to pay down our debts.
  15. At the moment, there isn’t much happening, appointments or anything along those lines at the moment, but I have been picking up with daily and weekly routines.
  16. I am still learning to get up early, although as of lately things are getting easier.
  17. I have been getting back into routine of meal prepping more. I enjoy making crock pot recipes.
  18. I prefer to go to bed early, but some nights my boyfriend works late so some days it’s hard to go to bed at a decent time.
  19. I have been putting in the final touches of our budget.
  20. I was planning on doing this in July. We can still buy food, but we can’t buy any material items or wants.
  21. I haven’t been wanting to go a nail salon right now so I haven’t gotten a chance to spoil myself right now, but my boyfriend has been given me foot rubs. So that’s always nice.
  22. This is one of the goals we have been doing.
  23. Over the weekend, I spent time rearranging our room so now it’s more spacious. That was nice to not spend time watching TV.
  24. I am going to be purging and donating my clothes. I also plan on making donations to others for Christmas.
  25. I have been drinking a lot of tea, instead of water. But I try to do this more, since water is important.
  26. The new tradition with my boyfriend, I am still thinking of something cool to do. So far, I thought we can stock up on our basic necessities (toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, laundry detergent and soaps) for the year in December, instead of having to go out when we’re running out of things. Last December I went a bit crazy with this one sale of shower gels, and I just liked that feeling of being stocked up. I hate running out of things.

Overall, I feel like I am doing a good job with keeping up with resolutions and goals. Some of these have been challenging, other ones are fairly easy. I am proud with all that I have accomplished so far.

Be More Selfish

“If you’re a giver, always
looking out for others,
always feeling drained
because you break
yourself so others can
stay together, take a
break from it. Add value
to your own life first.
Add self-love and peace
to your life first.”

-S. McNutt

I feel this quote speaks volume to me, because I used to be this person. I cared more about others than I did about myself. I used to think it was selfish to take care of myself, but now I see it as an essential. Because if I don’t care of myself, than how am I supposed to take care of other people? I couldn’t, really.

Self care is so important. Always remember to take care for yourself. Especially during these uncertain times. Always do things with love and passion.

Breakaway -Kelly Clarkson

I have always loved this song growing up. It is such an inspirational song. It was written by Avril Lavigne, who is one of my favourite singers, especially when I was younger.

“I’ll spread my wings, and I’ll learn how to fly
I’ll do what it takes till I touch the sky
And I’ll make a wish
Take a chance
Make a change
And breakaway
Out of the darkness and into the sun
But I won’t forget all the ones that I love
I’ll take a risk
Take a chance
Make a change
And breakaway”

-Kelly Clarkson

To me, this songs talks about how we can make changes in our lives. It’s about wanting to take a chance to rewrite your story. And that no matter how hard and dark things get, things will always get better. There’s no shame in wanting something new and better.

You are the author of the story of your life. No one else is. Keep on striving for the greatness you are destined to have.

Day 8 of 192

I am back on track. Starting the week off fresh.

I have been enjoying making these small changes in my life. I feel like it’s the small changes that has the bigger outcomes. I feel like now is the best time since some time next year, my boyfriend and I will be moving out to be on our own. I just feel like I don’t need to take all of these things with me. I have been slowly decluttering things from my life over the past years. I really like the idea of living with less things.

Day 7 of 192

Hey everyone, I had an eventful weekend so I did get a bit caught up to share my Sunday’s item for my decluttering mission.

I have decided that it is best to start fresh, especially with my cosmetics. It is dangerous to apply expired make up.

How is everyone doing with their decluttering mission? I may not be feeling lighter, but I know that my make up tin is.

I read in Marie Kondo’s book The Illustrated Guide to Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up that she says to thank all of the items you discard. I love that book.

Day Twenty-One

Hi all,

Today is the final day of the 21 Day Challenge. Thank you so much for everyone being a part of this journey. I am so thankful for each and one of you to participate in this journey with me.

Let’s learn to appreciate movies. Who doesn’t enjoy a good movie with some people? They help us create and strengthen our bonds with friends and loved ones. They make us laugh and cry. Some movies even help us learn something. And learning is amazing!

There is so much work that goes into making a movie. We should all value the work and thought that goes into making a movie. In order to express our gratitude, we shall watch a movie, whether it be our favourite movie or something we haven’t seen before, be sure to express your gratitude!

Remember expressing gratitude changes everything.

Day Twenty

Hi friends!

Today, let’s learn to be appreciate music. Music is such an important aspect in our lives.

It cheers us when we’re sad. Music motivates us to get through a much needed work out and clean up around the house.

Music is also used to intensify a TV show or a movie.

We use music to help us with study and remember things, like how there’s songs about the human anatomy.

We also use music to help us recall special memories that we’ve shared with other people.

Let’s show our appreciation to music by dancing out our stress and worries.

Day 6 of 192

Hi all! I hope everyone is still on track with their de-cluttering goals. Today marks day six of our journey of the 192 days de-cluttering challenge.

I decided to throw away my lip balm that I have had for a long time — too long, to be honest.

Day Nineteen

Hi again!

Today we should feel grateful for getting mail. Whether it be letters and cards from family and friends or be packages from online shopping. We should always express our appreciation for our letter carriers who provide us with this service.

I love getting mail, there’s just something about it. It makes me happy.
