I was dusting off my bookshelf and I was inspired by how much of a variety of books I have, so I thought of several cool ideas for this post.
I wanted to see if I can spell out my name with the starting letters of the books, my name is Julianne. Unfortunately I don’t have any books that start with the letter J, so I improvised with Dear John. It is the closest thing I could find.
The books I picked are…
J for Dear John by Nicholas Sparks
U for Unfu*ck Yourself by Gary John Bishop
L for Lethal White by Robert Galbraith
I for I am Malala by Malala Yousafzai
A for Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Other Tales by Lewis Carroll
N for Never Too Late by Gail Vaz-Oxlade
N for The Now Effect by Elisha Goldstein, PhD
E for East Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

A book that takes place in my country. I live in Canada, so I picked Anne of Green Gables written by Lucy Maud Montgomery. This book takes place in Prince Edward Island, which is somewhere I would love to travel to. My boyfriend and I were planning on going there this summer, but the whole Covid-19 pandemic sort of ruined our plans, although we’ll definitely rearrange our plans so we can visit there. I cannot wait!

Places I would to travel to… Denmark.
Well I would like to travel to other places, but I was trying to use as many books as I can. Denmark is known to be one of the happiest countries in the world, so I am so excited to travel there. I found this book quite helpful to feel cozy and enjoy the simple things in life.

Places I have traveled to… New York and North Carolina. The Fantastic Beasts takes place in New York, whereas Safe Haven takes place in North Carolina.

A book where I can relate to one of the characters the most. I would say I am like Hermione Granger. I love her, I even dressed up as her for Halloween a couple of times. I can relate to her since we are both book smart people, and we love reading.

A book that is about school or takes place at a school.

A book that turned into a movie. I picked Matilda, because I must have watched the movie a million of times growing up. My Dad would take my sister and myself to the video store, and this was our choice all the time.

A book with a number. I picked 24/6 by Tiffany Shlain. I haven’t read it yet, but what interested me in buying this book was that it encourages us to unplug at least one day a week. That is something I would like to do.

A book about poetry. These are actually my two favourite poetry books. Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein was something that was always read to me at school. The Sun and her Flowers is something I have found not too long ago, I really enjoyed it.

A book about a TV show, I picked Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham, who played Lorelai Gilmore in Gilmore Girls. She was one of my favourite characters, and she even inspired me to go to Business school.

A book about my future career. I know that I want to obtain a degree in accounting, but I haven’t actually decided which career to pursue with it. There’s a lot I can do with an accounting degree. I know that I will figure it out in time, so I’m not worried. I also haven’t had experience in every aspect of accounting in my studies yet. My uncle is an accountant, too so he is also recommends that I pursue my Masters in Business Administration.

A book from a different time period. I have picked Little House in the Big Woods from The Little House in the Prairies series written by Laura Ingalls Wilder. This book is special to me since my mama and I used to read this all the time.

A book about my favourite hobby, which is cooking. One of my specialties is cooking soups, chicken noodle soup is my go to soup. I actually learned to make it by tasting it, and figuring what to add next. I am quite proud of myself.

You have a good collection of books! 😍 I have been wanting to read some of them, especially the self-help ones. 😄

Same! Do you also have a goal about how many books to read for the whole year?

I just started getting into more of a habit of reading a few months ago, so I would like to read 30 books this year. I’m about half way there. Hopefully next year I can read 52 books, because by then I should have better reading habits by then.
What about you?

That’s cool! As for me, my goal is to read 15 books this year. It has been my goal for how many years now, and I’ve never reached it. I’ve read 3 books so far. I’m currently reading 2 books. Hopefully, I’ll stay committed to my reading habit to reach my goal by the end of the year, and I’d love to increase it next year, too.

That’s awesome! If you have a long commute to work, maybe read an audiobook. That might help. But keep up the reading habit. You’ll get there. 🙂

I like that- spelling your name!😍

Thank you! 🥰 My name was going Julie and Anne was going to be my middle, but my Grandma suggested that my mama combine the two names. My mama was a big Julianne Moore fan, so that’s where she got the spelling from.
