Day 157 of 192

My Grandma knows I like butterflies. I like them because they remind that sometimes in order to make your transformation into to something beautiful, you have to go through a series of darkness. My Grandma gave me a mat for the shower that is supposed to prevent slips and falls. I don’t need to worry about that right now. I don’t know, but I have always found it to be a hassle moving around when cleaning the tub. That’s just me, though.

My cousin also likes butterflies, so I am going to offer this to her, and if she doesn’t like, I’m going to give it to my mom.

WWW Wednesdays – November 25th, 2020

This is a post where I talk all about books by answering the following questions… Although I have had another busy week, so I have only finished one of the books I am currently reading.

  1. What have I finished reading?
  2. What am I currently reading?
  3. What will I be reading next?
  1. What have I finished reading?

I really enjoyed this story, it was like the perfect thriller, and really interesting. I would recommend this book for people who enjoy reading a thriller.

My rating: 4 stars out of 5

2. What am I currently reading?

I got this from the library a few weeks ago, and I already enjoyed reading it. It reminds me a bit of Pretty Little Liars in a way.

And

My boyfriend and I have been really tired to read this in the evening, so we are still reading this book, but we are almost done.

3. What will I be reading next?

This book took a bit longer to get from the library, but that’s okay. I’ve always been interested in reading this book, since my sister has read it before, but she has never finished it. Although several years ago, my sister, our mom, and myself watched the movie together a few summers ago. It was also featured as a book in the Oprah Winfrey’s Book Club back in May of 1999.

Day 156 of 192

This is Wednesday’s item.

This is an old day planner from 2015. I came across it in one of my containers that I had stored at my sister’s house. I looked through to it to read about it. I liked that it had these stickers for birthdays, and appointments, so I kept that in case I bought myself a calendar, or if I get one for Christmas.

It was fun reading it, because at the time I first started dating my boyfriend, so it was a nice reminder of looking back at the past.

But other than that it didn’t really have much of a purpose anymore. This was where I decided to name my tag after. When I was first made my blog five years ago, this was next to me.

Top Ten Tuesdays #13

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

The rules are simple: Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want. Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.

This week is to honour America’s Thanksgiving, by expressing ten things we are thankful for. Even though I am a Canadian, and had already celebrated Thanksgiving last month, I figured I would write about what I am thankful grateful. It’s really beneficial to think and write about what you are thankful for.

This is in no particular order.

1. My family, and my boyfriend. Even though I wished I was able to see them more, but with the whole pandemic, we haven’t gotten together as much.

2. My friends. I don’t have many friends, which is okay, but for the few people I actually talk to, they’re awesome people. I wish I was able to hang out with them more.

3. Being able to help others. I love that feeling, being able to help brighten someone’s day.

4. My books. I love reading, and I am slowly reading more books from my bookshelves. I used to buy a whole bunch of books, and never actually get around to reading them. Which is why I have been spending more time reading them.

5. My tea collection. I enjoy making myself, and others a cup of tea, or even a latte (depending on which tea we’re having).

6. Sports. I love watching sports. My favourites are football, hockey, basketball, and baseball. I love reading about the players, the traditions, and superstitions. I love reading about the history of the team. I enjoy following stats about the players.

7. My room. I love my room. It has everything that I enjoy, my books, my tea, my mugs.

8. My laptop because I use it for my blogging.

9. My crockpot, because it allows me to make delicious soups, and pastas.

10. The ability to be comfortable with less – things, stress, debt. I am starting to understand the importance of feelings, and experiences, instead of being bombarded by all of these things.

I would love to see your list of things that you are grateful for.

S’mores Chai Latte

It’s another edition of Tea Tuesdays. Today’s edition is extra chocolatey! I normally make my lattes with regular milk, but I used chocolate milk instead. It froths nicely, but it isn’t as creamy as regular milk. It was still delicious.

The tea itself contains pieces of chocolate bits, marshmallows, and graham crackers. It’s a pu’erh tea, which gives you a boost of energy. The chocolate and marshmallows gives it an extra decadent taste, not overly sweet, but just the perfect amount of sweetness. I added a few mini marshmallows on top of my latte, and some milk chocolate bits. It was amazing!

I made one for my boyfriend, as well. My mug is the S’mores. I saw it when my boyfriend and I were shopping a few years ago. It was on sale, so I had bought it. Which is perfect because that Autumn I saw this S’mores Chai tea. When I tried this tea it made me love my mug even s’more!

My boyfriend loves Koi fish, so I happily purchased this mug for him. He loves it.

Day 155 of 192

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

Over the years I have had a large collection of sweaters. Like an obsessive amount of sweaters, courtesy of my Grandma for always giving me more sweaters. It feels really good to help others by giving away a lot of these sweaters that no longer fit me, since I have grown. It’s better to donate items instead of tucking them away in a container.

It feels really good to let go, and finally have a reasonable amount of sweaters.

I have learned to let go of things. It is liberating to know that thing aren’t going to weigh me down. There are several studies that show a correlation with being stressed and depressed from owning too many things.

In the season of giving, how about we rename it the Season of Giving Back? We should learn ways we can help others. Big or small gestures really go a long way to brighten someone’s day.

Goodreads Mondays #6 – November 23rd, 2020

This is a post about us discussing one of the books in our To Be Read List and talking about why we would like to read it. I would love to know what is your favourite genre, and what books are on your To Be Read List.

I saw this book on Goodreads, as a book that other liked, based on some of the thrillers I have been reading lately. I saw it and I placed a hold at my local library. I am really excited to read it soon.

It is about this family who leaves their town and past behind them to have a fresh start. They ended up buying a rumoured haunted house. They are trying to not have secrets exposed although they find that challenging when something or someone is watching their every move from inside their house.

Goodreads Rating 3.91 stars out of 5

Big Life (26 Letters) – USS

Hey everyone, it’s another edition of Music Mondays! Today is all about my favourie music duo.

I’m not sure if any of you have heard the band Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker (also known as USS). They are originated from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They are an alternative rock duo. They like to describe themselves as, “We like to call what we do the campfire after-party. It’s like you’re at Nirvana Unplugged, but there’s a drum and bass party and glow sticks all around you.”

They are one of my favourite people to listen to. I have saw them live, with my best friend, and I was so happy. I had such a great time.

I was sad that not long ago, they decided to quit making music, and plan on releasing their final album in January of next year.

What I love about their song, Big Life, is that it reminds me that I am the actor and director of my whole. I basically have the power to live my best life.

Here’s a photo of their concert. They have a lot of live music videos on YouTube, if you want to experience their show.

“You don’t know powerful you are
Rewrite your history
It starts with
Twent-six letters
Stitch them all together
Make a big life, a big life
Infinite to nothing
From zero to something
Make a big life, a big life
A big life, a big life.”

-USS, Big Life

Gratitude

Because many of many American followers are going to be celebrating Thanksgiving, I decided to decidate the weekly quote to remind them, and others to express our gratitude. Not just when we’re celebrating Thanksgiving, but for every day.

It is always good to have a big heart that can find gratitude every day.

Day 154 of 192

Today marks week number 22 of me getting rid of my things. I am happy with my progress. Mostly because I know that the things I have passed on to give to my Grandma, is going to be helping so many people. My Grandma is friends with all of her neighbours. I am so happy that I am able to help others.

I remember her telling me that she gave away some of my sweaters to a girl who’s husband had passed away earlier this year, and she doesn’t have many friends. I’m glad that she was able to benefit from things I have outgrown.

I know that many of my American followers are getting to celebrate Thanksgiving later this week. I know it must be challenging with the pandemic happening, but even if you spent some time donating some items to other people. You would feel a lot of joy knowing that you brighten someone else’s day. It can be a new way to spread holiday cheer, in case you have to break some traditions because of the pandemic.

Today’s item that I am planning on donating is this grey sweater. It used to be one of my favourite sweaters before I outgrow it. But a few years ago, my friend gave me of his sweaters which is really identical to this one, which is now my favourite sweater.
