Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
The rules are simple: Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want. Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
This week is all about holiday or a seasonal books/covers, books that take place in winter, or have a cozy scene, or takes place in the cold.
I only have two Christmas/winter book at hand, but I think I would like to read some Christmas books. These are the books I would like to read.
- The Christmas Sisters

This is the only Christmas book I have on hand at the moment. This book is about how a mother wishes to spend the holiday with her three adoptive daughters. But each daughter is currently going through something, that may prevent them from spending the holidays together. Will they figure out a way, so they can all spend it together?
2. The Long Winter

I haven’t read this book, yet. It was written by Laura Ingalls Wilder. It’s about how her family work together by surviving a long winter in the prairies.
3. In a Holidaze

I saw this on someone’s blog, and I think it looks great. I would love to read it one day. I have heard a lot of good reviews about In a Holidaze.
This book is where Mae wishes to be happy. She spends every holiday at a cabin in Utah with her family, playing board games, while eating and drinking. She asks the universe to show her happiness, so she ends up in a time loop reliving Christmas, until she gets her true love under the mistletoe.
4. 12 Dates of Christmas

This book is about a single woman who goes on 12 different dates.
5. The Greatest Gift

This book tells the story about how our life touches and intertwines with other people. George is greeted with his Guardian Angel, when he was thinking about jumping off of a bridge. His Guardian Angel shows George how different everyone’s lives would be had George not born. I have seen the movie several times, but never have read this book yet.
6. A Christmas Carol

I haven’t read this book, or seen this movie either. I really would like to. It’s about a man who gets visited by his former business partner, and the spirits of Christmas, the past, present and future.
7. The Christmas Train

It’s about a journalist trying to make it home for the holidays, forced to take the train from Washington D.C., to LA. He begins to realize that things, and sees life differently now from this train ride.
8. Skipping Christmas

What would our lives look like if we skipped Christmas, no crowded malls, less stress that has somehow became part of the holiday tradition. I think I would like this book a lot. I have always wondered what things would be like. I’m trying to make mine Christmas traditions less commericialized.
9. ‘Twas the Nightshift Before Christmas

A diary of a junior doctor in what he has experienced during the holidays.
10. The Christmas Wedding

The bride in the story is getting remarried, she has kept her groom a secret from her family. They haven’t gotten together for Christmas since the passing of her first husband. She also has another secret that is going to change everyone’s lives forever.
