How Far I’ll Go Alessia Cara

Happy Music Monday! I absolutely adore Alessia Cara. Even though she didn’t write this song, she sang it so amazingly. What I love about her is that she sings motivational songs, and she is an incredible role model on anyone. This song was originally written by Lin-Manuel Miranda for the Disney’s movie Moana. Aleesia Cara sang this song at the end credits of this movie, and this song was sang by Auli’i Cravalho sang this during the movie.

This song is wonderful and inspiring because it is about answering your call, or your purpose in your life, and seeing how far your dream will take you. What is empowering is that we may not know where are dreams are going to take us, but that’s all part of the journey.

This song won a Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media.

“The line where the sky meets the sea? It calls me
And no one knows, how far it goes
If the wind in my sail on the sea stays behind me
One day I’ll know, how far I’ll go”

-Lin-Manuel Miranda, How Far I’ll Go

Wild Things – Alessia Cara

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is doing well.

I picked an Alessia Cara song because I really love her music and she is a Canadian, just like me.

The reason why I chose Wild Things, is because I feel like this song talks about being your own person, and not worrying about what other people think of you. She is reminding us that it is okay, if we don’t fit in with the popular people. It’s about making your own rules and not allowing others to dictate and control your life.

“I lose my balance on these eggshells
You tell me to tread, I’d rather be a wild one instead
Don’t wanna hang around the in-crowd
The cool kids aren’t cool to me
They’re not cooler than we are”

-Alessia Cara, Wild Things
