Day 68

This lesson is from Tuesday March 9th.

I was at my sister’s house for the day, watching my niece. With so many people’s birthdays approaching, I thought it would be fun for my niece and myself to make some crafts for everyone! It was my niece’s Grandma’s birthday, then it was my sister’s birthday, and then a family friend’s birthday.

I traced my niece’s hands and made them into various things. For her Grandma, we made each of her hands into flowers. And then for my sister, we made them into elephants. And for our family friend we just traced her hands. And we added a cute quote. Everyone loved her work of art!

During that time my Grandpa was in the hospital, which made me feel really sad. But helping my niece with her presents to everyone, that cheered me up a bit. It was a nice distraction.

Today, I will try to do something that allows me to give back to others, whether it’s through crafts, or giving someone my time, it would help me distract myself from my own feelings of despair. Sometimes b giving something to others, we are able to forget our own feelings for a bit. Maybe by helping others, or just being there, we are able to cheer ourselves up, too.

Day 51

This lesson is from Saturday.

My boyfriend was making us dinner, and while I was waiting, I was going through my art and crafts bin. I had pulled that out, so I can take some crafts to do with my niece when I was babysitting her last week. I kept it because I wanted to do some crafts myself. I took out some of my colouring and my pencil crayons and started colouring. I picked out my Alice in Wonderland colouring book. I love that movie.

I love that colouring has an ability to calm me, and relax me. Colouring is so soothing. I will definitely be making more time to do crafts this week, especially since it’s almost my boyfriend’s birthday. I also have a lot of colouring books.

Today, I will focus on ways to relax and calm me. Which can be easier than one think. Colouring, and doing arts and crafts are a good way to relieve stress. I personally love to colour. Finding healthy ways to relieve and cope with stress is easier than one might think it is. We just need to think about it more creatively.

Day 148 of 192

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is having a great start to their week so far.

Today’s item is a pair of scissors. One of my biggest pet peeves I had when I had living with my mother, was that she wouldn’t put things back in their place when she was done using them.

So, a commonly used item, like scissors, were misplaced a lot. So much so, that I had to go out and buy a pair. To me, there should be a pair of scissors that stays strictly in the kitchen, which is to be used to opening packages. And I liked having a pair of scissors of my crafts, and my mom needed a pair of scissors for her crafts, too. I believed in having separate pair of scissors because I didn’t want my craft scissors to touch my food packages. That’s probably just me, though.

At one point we would have extra pairs of scissors, because we would find the ones mama misplaced. Which is why I no longer need these scissors. They are extremely dirty anyway.

Day 145 of 192

This is Saturday’s item.

I used to be a huge Barbie fanatic. I would always ask for more dolls, more accessories, for my birthday, and Christmases. I also liked art and crafts, as well. But alas I no longer need these Barbie beads anymore. I’m going to give this to Grandma, and she is going to give these to her neighbour’s granddaughter. I’m glad that I have an opportunity to add joy in other people’s lives.

Top Ten Tuesdays #10

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

The rules are simple: Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.

This week’s topic is Non-Bookish Hobbies. This post is to help us get to know each other. The list of hobbies should not be books or reading related.

  1. Cooking
  2. Watching movies and TV shows
  3. Listening to music
  4. Travelling
  5. Playing games on my phone
  6. Hanging out with family and friends
  7. Practicing yoga
  8. Making scrapbooks, and other art projects (painting, colouring, etc.)
  9. Relearning French
  10. Studying astrology and Tarot cards

I would love to read all about your hobbies in the comments. 🙂

Day 107 of 192

Today’s item is five jars of glitter. I don’t think that I will be playing with any more glitter, and if I will I don’t see happening anytime soon. I don’t have a craft table anymore where I live. I mostly do most of my crafts on my bed. So I rather not be sleeping in a glitter mess.

When my boyfriend and I get our space, yeah, maybe I’ll be making arts and crafts with glitter.

Day 93 of 192

Wow! I have 100 more days left of this challenge. Which also means there are only 100 days left of 2020. That seems like a long time, but some times these days, during this time can go by pretty quickly.

In this container, I came across various art materials that I no longer need. I feel so free without all of these items anymore.

Be Creative

I love being creative!! It is one of my favourite things to do. I make many creative projects with my creativity. I made pillows, a quilt and when I was younger I used to make clothes for my dolls. I colour pretty pictures to give to people. I’ve also drew pictures as well.

Today, I will do my best to use my creativity to add happiness in my life as well as the lives of others.
