Broken & Beautiful by Kelly Clarkson

Every week, as part of Music Mondays, I post a positive song to kick start the week! This week is Broken & Beautiful by Kelly Clarkson. I grew up loving Kelly Clarkson. I first saw Kelly Clarkson on American Idol, and I admired all of her songs since then.

She just recently went through a divorce. This is her anthem saying that our hardships can break us down, but that’s okay, because we are broken, but we are still beautiful, and that is what counts. Being broken doesn’t mean anything bad, it talks about how we can overcome these hardships, and come back even stronger.

“I don’t need you to lower the bar for me
I know I’m Superwoman, I know I’m strong
I know I’ve got this ’cause I’ve had it all along
I’m phenomenal and I’m enough
I don’t need you to tell me who to be”

Start Again

Feel free to start again. Feel free to let go. It is okay to let the broken foundation finally collapse in order for you to build again. You have to let go of the broken pieces in order to grow and start something new.

Letting go of the broken pieces and looking back at everything that once was before it shattered may be difficult but you are a strong person. Everything that has happened to you has for a reason. You may not be able to see it now but you will – give it time.

Rebuilding your future is the best thing you can do for yourself. Let go of everything that weighs you down.

Today, I will let go of the broken pieces of my life and welcome the new with arms open wide.

Heart – Buddy Wakefield

“If my heart
really broke
every time I fell from love
I’d be able to offer you confetti by now.

But hearts don’t break,
y’all,
they bruise and get better.”

This is a reminder that no matter how broken you feel you are, that you will mend into something beautiful. Just never give up.
