Sandwich

Two days ago my boyfriend’s mama bought us a sandwich from a local sandwich shop.

It was so good. My toppings were butter, slices of ham, carrots, parsnip and hot peppers. I loved it.

Garlic Bread

My family and I were celebrating my Dad’s birthday we went to his parent’s house and we ordered pizza and wings.

It also came with garlic bread. It was amazing. Some restaurants just use butter but this time this restaurant added garlic. It was superb!

Pumpkin French Toast

I had breakfast with my boyfriend today, it was great as usual. Today we made Pumpkin French Toast.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 9 slices Texas toast (or other white bread such as Challah or French bread)
  • Butter, for griddle

Directions

  • Preheat an electric griddle to 350 degrees (a non-stick skillet set over medium heat also works fine). In a mixing bowl whisk together milk, pumpkin puree, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger until well combined. Pour into a shallow dish.
  • Butter griddle and dip bread into egg mixture (allowing a few seconds for it to absorb mixture. I also squeeze gently to soak the mixture to center), then rotate and coat opposite side. Transfer to griddle and cook until golden brown on bottom, then lift, butter griddle once more and flip french toast to opposite side and cook until golden brown. Serve warm with butter and maple syrup.

Him and I used Cinnamon Raisin Bread and since we only used five slices of bread, we decided to just add three eggs instead of four.

We also made Earl Grey Vanilla tea. My boyfriend makes the best tea. We added a little bit of butter to our finished product as well as sugar and cinnamon.

Penne With Sausage

All of that shopping earlier made me hungry so I made myself penne and sausage with yellow peppers and celery. It was so good! It’s one of my top ten favourite dishes.

First you boil water, then once bubbled add pasta noodles. I like to add a little bit of butter.

Then cut up sausage in bite-sized pieces and then place in a frying pan.

Chop up the yellow pepper, celery and garlic then place tin a frying pan, but don’t add your garlic yet.

Then once the peppers and sausage is cooked, add the peppers to the sausage, let simmer.

In a small sauce pan boil your sauce I add Oregano leaves, ground pepper and red chili pepper flakes.

Whilst the sauce is boiling, add the garlic with meat and vegetables.

Once sauce is boiled I add the meat and vegetables to the sauce and stir.

Grate Parmesan cheese on top and serve.

Feel free to add more vegetables and onions and meat to this. You can serve garlic bread with it.

Fried Cinnamon Raisin Bread with Banana and Nutella

I sliced up a banana and then I spread Nutella on one slice of my cinnamon raisin bread. On the other piece I placed the banana slices. Then bring the pieces on top of each other.

In a small frying pan I added some butter to grease the pan then placed my sandwich in the pan. Once the bread becomes golden flip and let the other side cook.

Then serve!

It wasn’t bad, I wasn’t certain as to what I thought it would have tasted. I would have it again.

Pancakes with Sliced Strawberries

On my birthday, I remember when I told my boyfriend – well we weren’t officially boyfriend and girlfriend at that time – that my sister made her and I pancakes and my boyfriend said that he would have sliced strawberries.

I try to have breakfast with my boyfriend once a week. This week I bought pancake mix and strawberries because I remembered what he had said on my birthday.

He told me that he hasn’t really made pancakes before so I was expecting him to make such a mess in the kitchen. But I guess it helped that I bought the pancake mix that only requires you to add water. That helped. I’m kidding.

His pancakes were golden brown perfect! Then we added butter and syrup and of course our strawberries. It was superb! 🙂
