Minimalist Game Day 20

The rules are simple, you get rid of things from your life, either by selling them, throwing them away, or donating them. On the first day, you remove one item, and then on the second day, you remove two items, you keep on playing until it’s the end of the month, or whenever you run out of things to remove from your life. It is okay if you can’t make it until the end of the month. Personally, I would rather see items get donated, or sold to someone else. If you must throw something away, I hope it’s because it isn’t fixable. Even if you have removed three items from your life, you should still be proud of that, because it is three more things you removed before the challenge. But if you are able to complete this challenge, you would have gotten rid of almost 500 items! That’s a lot of stuff.

This is from Saturday March 20th.

This is an old pair of yoga pants that I no longer use. I’m happy to give these to my Grandma, so she can give them to one of her neighbours.
Another pair of yoga pants.
Old tea tins, that I finished up.
Another pair of yoga pants.
Two old and probably expired hair products.
Two body sprays that I am going to give my cousin because I don’t use these anymore.
I finished this bubble bath product, so I can recycle it. A new lip balm that I do not need.
Two old and dirty coasters. My cousin gave me new ones for Christmas, so my boyfriend and I can let these ones go.
An old day planner, and a calendar from last year that I no longer need.

3 bags of tea that I consumed

Minimalist Game Day 17

If you are participating, I would love to know what you are parting with, feel free to let me know in the comments. This is such a fun way to welcome Spring cleaning.

This is from Wednesday March 17th.

Expired lip care (lip balms and lip sticks).
A photo album, and a notebook. I plan on giving them to my cousin.
A Christmas present from my Dad. He bought me a box of cookies.

I had parted ways with a lot of clothes that I haven’t worn in a really long time. It is best for me to pass them on to someone who will enjoy these items than I ever did. I like to give them to my Grandma, because she knows a lot of people and neighbours that always need clothes. I feel fortunate enough to be able to help others.

Day 186 of 192

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! I hope that whatever you celebrate, you are having a joyous time.

The item that I am going to part with today is this shirt. I haven’t seen it before, so it must be my sister’s perhaps. I am going to ask her, if she doesn’t want it, I’m going to donate it.

It’s a cool shirt, but I’m happy with everything that I own already.

Day 185 of 192

Happy Christmas Eve everyone! I hope everyone has a magical holiday!

Today’s item I plan on getting rid of this beautiful sweater. A lot of my clothes that I have found are from my high school days, with a few shirts being the exception.

I really loved the colour, but unfortunately it is just too short in the torso, since I have grown a bit since high school.

Day 184 of 192

I was so happy when I found this shirt again, because I haven’t seen it in awhile. Since I used to wear it in high school, it no longer fits me.

I loved that it had the different animal print over each word, and I love these words a lot.

Day 183 of 192

The last nine days of the year! I cannot believe that we’re almost at the end of 2020. I really hope things improve next year.

This is today’s item. I have had this shirt for a little while now, and if you look closely you can see that it still has the tag on it. It’s time for me to part with this shirt. It looks like a really great shirt, but alas, it just isn’t for me. I’m sure my Grandma will know someone who would like it.

Day 179 of 192

This item is from Friday.

I have been going through my belongings because I want to ring in the new year with less stuff. I find that owning too many things isn’t good for your mental health. I am so proud of myself for partaking in this journey.

These socks are really old, and I already have a lot of socks as it is, so it’s best to get rid of some. Unfortunately these ones didn’t make the cut, but I’m sure they would make someone else warm and happy.

Day 177 of 192

Hey everyone, I hope everyone is having a great day! I am spending my day cleaning and organizing my belongings. I like to get the house ready for the new year. With whatever time is left over, I would unwind by relaxing, and reading a book.

This is the item I will plan on getting rid of, I am going to offer these tights to my sister. Especially since she normally asks me if she can borrow mine, whether it’s for a dinner, or a party. Even though she isn’t going to go out to a party any time soon, I know she will eventually when it is safe.

Advent Calendar of Kindness 2020 Day 14

Today’s challenge is to offer help to a stranger, a loved one, or a friend, or all three if you feel extra helpful. There is a lot of people who need help around this time. You can help someone financially, help them with a task, or give someone your time. There’s so many ways you can help someone.

Today, I helped my sister by offering her my time. My niece was at her Grandparents for the day, so my sister and I had her place to ourselves since her boyfriend was at work. She needed help going through all of her clothes. She has been a bit occupied to spend time sorting, and organizing her clothes. Which is totally understandable since she has returned to work. It is challenging to juggle a job, a house, and be a mom. I wouldn’t know from experience first handedly, but I can see why it is stressful.

We sorted her clothes in various categories: what needed to be washed, and what needed to be donated. My sister had a lot of baskets on hand which made it easy to sort the laundry by person (my niece, my sister, and her boyfriend). When we finished sorting through everything, we carried all of those baskets to her laundry room. That way they would be ready to go for her to do this week.

I helped her vacuum her floors, as well. And I helped her put away my niece’s clothes, since she was able to do one load while I was there.

I am so happy that I was able to help her. She was able to donate a lot of her clothes, so that’s exciting. I’m sure someone will be able to use them and appreciate them more than my sister did.

Day 175 of 192

Hey everyone! I am so happy that I made it to week number 25, item 175! This is truly amazing! I am almost done this challenge. I still have a bit more stuff to do, so I might do another challenge for the new year. I will keep you posted.

Today’s item is my sister’s shirt that I ended up having since it was in my container we quickly packed from our mom’s house. I am going to see if she would like this shirt back. I know she wouldn’t be able to wear it now, but it will come handy in a few months from now, when it is our summer.
