Touch the Sky – Brave

Every week, I like to write about a positive song to help us jump start the week. I like to call this segment Music Mondays. This song is from Monday March the 15th.

The song I selected is Touch the Sky, which is featured in the movie Brave. I really enjoy that movie a lot. My Great Grandparents are from Scotland, and the Disney Princess Merida is Scottish, too. I really like that.

To me, this song is about chasing your dreams and accomplishing them no matter what everyone else may say about your dreams. You are capable of achieving anything you set yourself out to accomplish.

“I will hear their every story
Take hold of my own dream
Be as strong as the seas are stormy
And proud as an eagle’s scream”

-Merida, Brave

Why Not? – Hilary Duff

I love starting the week off with positive vibes. I adore Hilary Duff, and I miss watching Lizzie McGuire. I definitely am going to have a marathon of Lizzie McGuire soon!

What I love about this song is that it encourages everyone to go out and chase your dreams. Instead of focusing on the negatives of what may or may not happen to us when we go after our goals, we should go after our goals anyway. I hope that everyone is able to achieve at least one of their goals. It just takes determination, and motivation to accomplish all that you want in life. I feel bad for girls that are growing up without many inspirational songs like this. I feel like there isn’t as much as there was when I was growing up.

“Why not (why not)
Take a crazy chance
Why not (why not)
Do a crazy dance
If you lose the moment
You might lose a lot
So,
Why not, why not”

-Hilary Duff, Why Not

Dig A Little Deeper

One of my favourite Disney movies is Princess and the Frog, I love this movie, because it centres around Tiana who has worked really hard to have her own restaurant. She shared a passion for cooking because her Dad loved cooking.

It’s Music Mondays, so I like to start the week off with posting a positive song, to help us stay positive and happy.

In this song, Dig a Little Deeper, it talks about how you just got to dig a little deeper to find out who you are, so you can move forward with your dreams and goals. It’s important to find out who you are.

“You got to dig a little deeper
Find out who you are
You got to dig a little deeper
It really ain’t that far”

Day 39

On Monday, since my boyfriend had the day off, we spent the day catching up, and getting on better terms with one and another. Since I had finished one of my library books called, Bridge to Terabithia, I thought it would be cool to re-watch it. I haven’t watched it since seventh grade. I love the book, and movie. More so on that later.

I find it a lot of fun to watch something I haven’t seen in awhile, it definitely brings back a lot of memories. I love re-watching Disney movies, I have so many favourites.

My boyfriend enjoyed watching this movie a lot. He hasn’t seen it, so it was a fun way to spend the day. We had a homemade bacon poutine for the movie.

Today, I will spend the day re-watching a movie that I haven’t seen in awhile. This helps remind us of happier times, and memories.

Thankful Thursdays #27 – December 31st, 2020

I cannot believe this is the last Thankful Thursday of the year. But don’t worry I will definitely keep on posting this every Thursday in the new year. I really enjoy writing these posts.

I have a lot to be grateful for this week. I would love to hear about what everyone is grateful this week, and even throughout the year, too.

Here is my list.

  1. I had a lovely Christmas. My roommate made us steaks and baked potatoes, with a Caesar salad. It was really delicious. It was a fun night considering we couldn’t really see our families with the new restrictions.
  2. Disney+ released a new movie called Soul, it was an amazing film. It’s about discovering your purpose in your life. I loved watching that movie. I feel extra inspired to start the year off with having watched that movie. I can’t wait to watch the new series on Netflix called Bridgerton. Especially since Shonda Rhimes produced the show. It is based off a book series.
  3. My boyfriend and I enjoyed four days of watching football. It was even better, because our team won.
  4. I briefly saw my family for an exchange outside of our house, maintaining our distance from one another. I got a bunch of cool stuff, stuff I needed like body wash, a candle, money, and gift cards.
  5. Our room is all clean for the new year’s arrival. That is always exciting. 🙂

Day 190 of 192

This item is from Tuesday.

I found this book The Hunchback of Notre Dame while I was cleaning and going through my belongings. I haven’t read this in a really long time, so I quickly glanced it over. I decided to give this to my sister, so we can help my niece have a big library of books. She seems like she will really like stories. I hope so, I think reading books is amazing! I can’t wait to have sleepovers with her, and reading cool books with her.

Watch a Movie

On this edition of Feel Good Friday, my suggestion is to watch a movie. It can be your absolute favourite movie, it can be a Christmas movie, it can be a new movie you haven’t seen before, any kind of movie at all.

Watching a movie will help you out so much. I heard that watching something you have already seen before, it can help relax and calm you, because you already know what is going to happen next.

Later on today, my boyfriend and I are going to watch Soul, it’s the newest Disney movie that is coming out today on Disney+. My boyfriend and I are super excited to see it. I feel like it’s going to be a tear jerker. I love those kinds of movies.

Almost There

Here is today’s edition of Music Mondays. One of my favourite Disney movies is Princess and the Frog. It’s about this girl Tiana, and how she inspires to have her own restaurants, called Tiana’s Palace. She knows how hard it is going to be to make it work, but she is going to continue to work hard until her dream comes true.

It inspires me because no matter how big or small my goals are, I can accomplish anything.

“So I work real hard each and every day
Now things for sure are going my way
Just doing what I do
Look out boys, I’m coming through”

-Tiana, Almost There

Favourite Friday #2

Graphic Designer: The Midnight Book Blog

I was really inspired and wanted to partake in this post, although I got so busy with it being my Thanksgiving Weekend. Now, I’m just catching up with all of my posts.

I first saw this on https://midnightbookblog.wordpress.com/ ‘s blog, and I loved the idea of this post.

https://midnightbookblog.wordpress.com/ says anyone can participate in this post, although she does asks that you can tag her, so she can read your responses, as well.

Every Friday we talk about a different topic. The past Friday’s topic was talking about our favourite book from our childhood or from when we were teens.

I have a few books that summarize my childhood. I have always been a big reader.

My favourite books are Little House On the Prairie, my mama would read these books when I was younger. Although I am sad because life got too busy and her and I never got around to finish the series. She told me that she used to read these books when she was going up, too.

Another one of my favourite is Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. I liked this book, because when I was younger, my sister insisted that I read this book. So her and I used to read these books.

And lastly, I loved reading Disney fairy tales. I would get my Dad to read them to me when I was younger before bed. He didn’t mind.

Day 86 of 192

This is Wednesday’s item.

My sister bought me this for my birthday many years ago. I haven’t used it in awhile since my hair is really thick. But when I used it, I really liked it. I loved that the princess side opened up into a mirror, which I thought was pretty cool.

I was thinking of giving this to my niece, but it would need a deep clean first.
