Thankful Thursdays #24 – December 10th, 2020

It’s hard to believe that I have been doing this for six months now. I feel like this activity has benefited me in more ways than one. I encourage everyone to express gratitude at least once a week. You don’t have to write it down, or type it out, even just thinking or talking about what you are grateful is helpful, too.

Every Thursday, I write about what I am thankful for.

Here is a list of the things I am thankful for this week.

  1. I am happy and appreciate the love and kindness from my followers by liking my posts, and having conversation throughout the comment section. I have gained another 100 followers in three and a half weeks, and I am now over 600 followers. I had no idea I was going to have this many followers when I first started out.
  2. My boyfriend and I have stopped having take out for a bit. That way we can save some more money, and eat more healthier. We have had a lot of delicious home cooked meals this week. I love cooking, so that makes me happy.
  3. I got to see my sister and niece today. She is part of my bubble, and our boyfriends work together, so it’s okay for us to see each other. We had a lot of fun together. My niece got her bangs cut, just beforehand. She looks extra cute.
  4. I got my last container from my sister’s house. I am so excited, because now I can finally go through my belongings. It makes me really proud of myself. I’ll be working through that this weekend.
  5. I got to play with my niece earlier tonight, she was showing me all of her toys in her room while my sister was making us dinner.

Let me know some of the things you are grateful for this week. 🙂

WWW Wednesdays – December 2nd, 2020

This is a post where I talk all about books by answering the following questions…

  1. What have I finished reading?
  2. What am I currently reading?
  3. What will I be reading next?

I had a great week for reading. I was able to finish a lot of books. I was able to finish three books.

  1. What have I finished reading?

I really enjoyed reading this book, I have never read any of her books before. This book was amazing. It had a fast paced plot, which I really liked. All I kept on thinking about was the theme song from Pretty Little Liars. It is the perfect book for Spooktober.

My rating: 3.75 stars out of 5

And

This book is split up into 12 chapters, one for each month. I read a chapter on the first of every month. I have read this book for the past five years or so. Although I have been reading this book more cautiously this year. It’s about Gretchen’s research on happiness, how to find it, and monthly resolutions that help us find happiness. I really enjoyed this book.

My rating: 4 stars out of 5 stars

And

I fell in love with this book, the moment I picked it up. I always wanted to read it years ago, because my sister tried getting into the book. She kept on putting the book down, and picking it back up, but she kept on forgetting what happened. Her solution was to watch the movie. I watched the movie, and I thought it was really well done. I saw the movie several years ago, so I vaguely remember it. I prefer the book better, although I might watch this movie this weekend. Even though my sister found the beginning to be a bit slow, which it was, but it was still well written. I can’t recall if she finished reading the book, but it is really good. I would recommend this book to anyone.

It is about the story of a teenager who gets sent to different foster cares, and each house she is, faces different challenges, and teaches her various lessons about life, and self-growth. I recommend reading the book first, then watching the movie, but that’s just me.

My rating: 4.75 stars out of 5

2. What am I currently reading?

This one is a really long book, and at the end of the day, it’s hard to find motivation to read this with my boyfriend after a long day.

I cannot wait to start reading this book. It looks like a great spooky thriller. I haven’t started it yet, just been finishing up my errands around the house. Thrillers are my favourite books to read. I feel thinking about what is going to happen next. Most thrillers have exciting twists that you didn’t see coming.

3. What will I read next?

Since one of my goals for 2021 is save up more money, this book will definitely help me. I can’t wait to read this book.

December Goals

So I am pretty exciting for a new month, as it means new goals that I get to think of for myself. I have already thought of goals that I would try out this month.

My boyfriend and I are going to go to work towards spending less money on luxurious items, in order to save some, and put towards paying off more of our debts. Which will be really amazing. I am look forward to that.

I have already thought of an idea that I think would make for a good novel, perhaps. I know I’m a bit late, but every November, writers are encouraged to write a novel in those 30 days. I plan on doing that, but I plan on doing that in January since I was a bit busy in November. Then once I complete it, I am going to read it and edit it, so hopefully I’ll be able to share that with you sometime in February. They say the average book has about 50,000 words, so it works out to be 1,667 words a day. Especially you are just focusing on writing your idea, and then after that you spend time dedicating to the editing process.

I would like to make more trying new recipes, because that sounds like a lot of fun.

I am also working on ideas of how I can make 2021 the best year ever! More to come with that idea.

I will also keep on blogging daily, which is always a lot of fun. I can’t’ wait to find out what your December goals are.

Goodreads Mondays #4 – November 9th, 2020

This post is where I write about a book that is on our To Be Read List (TBR) List, and we discuss why we want to read it.

I have a lot of books on my TBR List. I am trying to make more time to read more books, so I can cross more books off of the list.

This week I would love to read The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. I have never read this book, but I have heard many great things about these books. I like to read the books before I watch the movie, so I haven’t see the movie, yet either.

One of a wealthy family member has disappeared over forty years ago, and and one of her uncles begins to seek answers on the disappearance. It covers many genres such as mystery, romance, finance, and family drama. It definitely sounds like it has something for everyone.

I cannot wait to read this book! What is one book on your TBR list? I would love to know.
