Thankful Thursdays #10

This post is where I write everything I am thankful for in the past week.

  1. I finally was able to donate all of the items I have been getting rid of. I have been placing these items in a reusable bag, and I gave them to my Grandma. My Grandma then passes all of that stuff to her neighbours and her friends. That was a freeing feeling.
  2. I got to hang out with some of my family on Tuesday. We had a lot of fun.
  3. I get to watch hockey and basketball in September! It’s going to be a lot of fun because football will be starting soon.
  4. I love the time I have been setting aside for reading. I have picked a lot of great books.
  5. I love that my succulents (the ones that I have gotten as a birthday present) has been growing a lot.

What are some of the things that happened to you this week that you are thankful for?

Day 52 of 192

Hi everyone! I was organizing my shower drawer because I was taking an inventory check. At the end of the year, my new tradition, which was part of my 26 Goals, my boyfriend and I are going to buy all of our essentials (to a certain degree, I wouldn’t recommend buying more than three months worth of cleaning products, but we were planning on buying toothbrushes, shower gels, toothpaste, etc.) for the following year. I often find that we often have to make a stop after work, or just have to go to grab something. I rather not have to spend this time running out, and this also stops us from aimlessly shopping, looking around at gifts for people. Our stop to buy toothpaste costs even more.

I know it might be the opposite of what I am currently doing, but to me, this is okay, because it would eventually get used up. I have a place for it all to go. I also liked the idea when I was in lock down earlier this year to have some of these essentials on hand already and not having to go out of my way to buy these items.

I guess I forgot this soap because I recall my Grandma giving me this for Christmas a few years ago. I just never gotten around to actually using it. And I’m not sure how old this really is, so like they all say, “when in doubt, throw it out”.

Day 38 of 192

My Grandma had given this dress and when I tried this on, it was really tight, and I thought this with exercising and eating healthy it would make a difference. Unfortunately, several of years have passed, and it still doesn’t fit. So I figured it was never meant to be, and that’s okay.

Day 12 of 192

I should have never agreed to take this shirt. My Grandma had offered me this shirt, since I love giraffes. Old me took me not trying to be rude. But even after a few years, I haven’t worn it once. It is a nice shirt, don’t get me wrong, but it just isn’t for me. I find the shirt a bit too loud for my liking.

I have to donate this item, since it didn’t really bring me much joy.

Day 2 of 192

It’s another day of the daily decluttering challenge.

I’m still sorting through my cosmetics. I get a lot of lipsticks at Christmas, despite telling people that I would rather buy my own cosmetics. That is something that not just one person buys me, but my Mama, and my Grandma buy me lipstick and other cosmetics, where things just become too much. And sometimes they don’t buy me the right shade. My Mama must have inherited this impulsive shopping habit from her mother. A lot of times they buy things for the sake of these items being inexpensive or on sale.

Although I am happy because I have heard my Grandma say that she wants Christmas to be less commercialized for us, which is fair. She will still get us a present, but it would just money. I am totally fine with that, because holidays have become a bit too commercialized in my family, and I don’t like having a lot of stuff anymore.

Here’s another one of my lipstick that I am departing with.
