The rules are simple, you get rid of things, either by selling them, throwing them away, or donating them. On the first day, you remove one item, and then on the second day, you remove two items, you keep on playing until it’s the end of the month, or whenever you run out of things to remove from your life. It is okay if you can’t make it until the end of the month. Personally, I would rather see items get donated, or sold to someone else. If you must throw something away, I hope it’s because it isn’t fixable. Even if you have removed three items from your life, you should still be proud of that, because it is three more things you removed before the challenge. But if you are able to complete this challenge, you would have got rid of almost 500 items! That’s a lot of stuff.
My two items are a towel, that I have never seen before. And a fake lotus in a plastic vase. These things no longer add any joy in my life. I am going to give these items to my Grandma when I see her again. I normally just place these things in a reusable bag, and place things in there that I no longer want anymore.
It’s Christmas Eve, so we should continue to spread as much love, and joy to others. This has been a difficult year for all of us, but we can help others feel better.
Be sure to thank an essential worker, or a teacher whenever you can. Whether it is a cashier at a grocery store, or a nurse, or a receptionist at a doctor’s office. There are so many essential workers to thank. I’m sure they must be tired, and stressed out, so the least we can do is say thank you.
Perhaps in your community, you can organize a community library box, and a food box. That way people can drop off books and exchange food and books. Whenever you finish a book, and you are done having it you can just place it in the community library box for someone to enjoy. People in our communities might be in need of food, so leaving out pasta, bread, cans of soup, some hot chocolate mix might go a long way in helping someone.
Here are some examples of each. Mind you it doesn’t have to be this fancy, it can be whatever you like. I think it’s a perfect way to get the community involved.
It’s hard to believe that it is almost Christmas! I believe that we should use this magical time to spread some love and cheer to others.
Today our challenge is to leave a positive review on someone’s restaurant, or service. Bonus points if you are writing about a small business. I know where I live we are in a lockdown, but our restaurants are still open for take out and delivery. Being able to provide a positive word, or two, about a restaurant, that will really go a long way. I know the restaurant owners would be so happy to read your review.
And if you don’t have a computer to write a positive review, recommend this restaurant to a friend, or a family member. Tell them what you ordered, and what you like to get next time.
You should spend the day telling someone that you love them. Not only is it free, but this person would greatly appreciate hearing you say you love them. If you live with this person, say it to their face, if you can’t, you can message them, or write a letter.
It’s important to say this to those who you love., even if they already know that you love them.
To all of my followers, thank you for the likes and leaving kind words in the comments, just know I appreciate your love, and positive vibes. Thank you!
This is Tuesday’s post. Sorry about that, just been busy.
Make a loved one something to eat. I always appreciate someone cooking for me. I have a lot of fun of cooking for others, too.
I feel like the time and money spent on this dinner, is better than a gift. You get to spend time together, and enjoy each other’s company over a delicious meal. To me, that provides me more joy than opening a present.
Today marks week 21 of my decluttering project. So far I have gone through two containers from my old room, that I have kept at my sister’s house for a few years now. I have two more containers to go through. It feels amazing knowing that whatever I am getting rid of is going to benefit someone else.
All of this extra space has allowed me to fill the open spaces with things that I actually enjoy, and I know these possessions of mine brings me joy.
I used to be obsessed with incents, but when I moved into my boyfriend’s house, for some I didn’t even pack any of them with me. So I when I saw them at the bottom of this container. I decided it was best to let go of these, because I have shown myself that they sparked little joy. I figured after these years, they had lost their scent.
My mom gave me this shirt, I just accepted without much thought in it. But now that I have re-evaluated my possessions, I can truly see what I need and no longer need.
Even if you get rid of 10 items to someone else in need, you will definitely experience the benefits of decluttering, and the weight of keeping everything in your life.
It is a really cute shirt, but it just isn’t me, and I have a lot of stuff, but I am happy that someone else is going to come across this shirt, and experience even more joy than I did.

My Questions
Who do you feel most comfortable with, and why? I feel most comfortable with my sister and my boyfriend, My sister because I grew up with her. When we were younger, I would spend my weekends in her room having a sleepover. We played Barbies, she would read us stories, we would watch movies together. We were always close when we were younger, and we are still close now, but sometimes it can be challenging since life is busy. I’m comfortable with my boyfriend because we have been together for five years, and we live together. We are comfortable telling each other our hopes and dreams with another. We can be vulnerable with each other.
Who is the kindest person you know? Describe their kindness. This one is challenging, because I know so many kind people. I would have to say my second cousin is the nicest person I know, because we are able to talk about all sorts of subjects. We give each other advice, and she has great things to say to me. And she even offered my boyfriend and I to spend a few nights at her, when our household was becoming too stressful for me. She thinks of the right things to say to me regarding feedback and encouragement to face my fears. I just enjoy talking to her so much.
What is your favorite blog that you’ve posted? Why? This one is challenging because I have written so many blog posts… I would probably say, Second Chance, the one where I got hit by a car, because I was inspiring other people to chase their dreams, and to never give up. If you would like to read it, here is the article. I was very lucky that day, because I walked away with only bruises.
I feel like there are probably other ones that I have enjoyed writing, but those were the first ones to come to mind.
If there was a way you could infuse an act of kindness habit into the everyday life of all people in the world, this habit as natural as the daily action of brushing their teeth, what would that kindness habit be? I would say spreading joy and positive vibes to others. It could be as simple as, “I like your scarf!” Or “You have a lovely smile, or eyes.” When we compliment people, it not only lifts other people’s spirits, but ourselves as well. Or even just let people know that they are doing a good job with raising their children, or any kind of service; let them know that you’re proud of them.
My Questions 1. What is your favourite three course meal? 2. What is something that makes you angry? 3. Would you rather have a magical machine that cleans your dishes, or washes your clothes? 4.What was the longest span of time you have gone without any sleep? 5. How would your closest person describe you? 6. What is something you regret? 7. What is something that you can’t go a day without doing? 8. What is the biggest struggle you have overcome? 9. If you had the ability to erase something that you did in the past, what would it be? 10. What do you think are your greatest strengths?
My grandparents gave me this shirt. I kept it as a workout shirt, but I had other shirts, and didn’t work out every day of the week to get to wear this shirt. This shirt didn’t seem like me so I never bothered wearing it.
But I am glad that I no longer have this shirt as a reminder of things I don’t wear. Hopefully this shirt will go to someone who is more appreciative of this than me.
Digital Declutter: I am still going through my emails and deleting the ones I no longer need.
