Minimalist Game Day 20

The rules are simple, you get rid of things from your life, either by selling them, throwing them away, or donating them. On the first day, you remove one item, and then on the second day, you remove two items, you keep on playing until it’s the end of the month, or whenever you run out of things to remove from your life. It is okay if you can’t make it until the end of the month. Personally, I would rather see items get donated, or sold to someone else. If you must throw something away, I hope it’s because it isn’t fixable. Even if you have removed three items from your life, you should still be proud of that, because it is three more things you removed before the challenge. But if you are able to complete this challenge, you would have gotten rid of almost 500 items! That’s a lot of stuff.

This is from Saturday March 20th.

This is an old pair of yoga pants that I no longer use. I’m happy to give these to my Grandma, so she can give them to one of her neighbours.
Another pair of yoga pants.
Old tea tins, that I finished up.
Another pair of yoga pants.
Two old and probably expired hair products.
Two body sprays that I am going to give my cousin because I don’t use these anymore.
I finished this bubble bath product, so I can recycle it. A new lip balm that I do not need.
Two old and dirty coasters. My cousin gave me new ones for Christmas, so my boyfriend and I can let these ones go.
An old day planner, and a calendar from last year that I no longer need.

Not photographed
3 bags of tea that I consumed

Minimalist Game Day 18

This is from March the 18th.

This is an old hair product that my mom gave me so long ago. The next item is expired hand cream that I have had for a few years. The third item is an old lip gloss from several years ago. The fourth item is expired hand cream that I was given as a gift, but it was from a long time ago, so it’s best to let that go. And the last item is this container my mom gave me some snacks in, but she didn’t need it back, so I just recycled it.
The top item is an envelope I no longer need anymore. I just recycle them. On the left is a notebook, I used to write in from time to time. I’m going to recycle the pages I wrote on, and give whatever is left to my cousin. On the right is a dream journal that I plan on giving to my cousin as well.
My two old phones from back in the day. I accidentally dropped my phone, so that explains the huge cracks on the phone. I am taking to get them recycled at one of this electronic recycling drop offs.
I bought this shirt because at the time I was going through my shopping phase of my life. I loved shopping. And now I am grateful that I don’t have the desire to do much shopping, at least for clothes anymore.
I bought this shirt, because I wanted to have more dressy shirts, and dress nicer. Unfortunately this shirt doesn’t fits me since I grew a little bit, and no longer touches the top of my pants.
This used to be my favourite scrunchie, but sadly, it became a headband. It somehow came undone, and I don’t know how to put it back to the way it used to be.
More expired lip products. One is a lip balm, and the other is a lipstick.
Unfortunately I grew a little bit, so it no longer is long enough for my liking. I just know that I will get my niece into liking Harry Potter, so I am going to sit it aside for her to wear, when she is older.
More body spray. Apparently this is people’s go to present for me, that and lip balm. Which is unfortunate because I have asked for people not to get me these items. So I plan on giving this to my cousin. She might like it.
This is a Kleenex box holder. I guess they were the big rave in the 90s and early 2000s. My Grandma gave me this many years ago, but I just don’t find much use to it.

Minimalist Game Day 17

The rules are simple, you get rid of things from your life, either by selling them, throwing them away, or donating them. But if you are able to complete this challenge, you would have gotten rid of almost 500 items! That’s a lot of stuff.

If you are participating, I would love to know what you are parting with, feel free to let me know in the comments. This is such a fun way to welcome Spring cleaning.

This is from Wednesday March 17th.

Expired lip care (lip balms and lip sticks).
A photo album, and a notebook. I plan on giving them to my cousin.
A Christmas present from my Dad. He bought me a box of cookies.

I had parted ways with a lot of clothes that I haven’t worn in a really long time. It is best for me to pass them on to someone who will enjoy these items than I ever did. I like to give them to my Grandma, because she knows a lot of people and neighbours that always need clothes. I feel fortunate enough to be able to help others.

Day 153 of 192

This is Sunday’s item.

This one was an easy item for me to part with. It’s super old, and expired as I have bought a few years back, and that it has been stashed away in a container.

Some things are really easy to throw away than others. But throwing away many items like this is, builds strength and confidence to learn to be comfortable with having less. Living with less, means less stress, and a clearer mind. It feels really amazing to let go of things, even if it’s just lip balm.

Day 151 of 192

Hey everyone, happy Friday! I hope everyone has an amazing day.

Today’s item that I have to part with is this old lip balm that I found. I recall buying this about five years, and stuffed it away in a container. I finally found it. This was an easy item to depart with, since it is expired, and I haven’t seen it for a few years now, so it won’t be missed.

Day 149 of 192

I have a lot of lip balms I no longer use, mostly because of how old these are. When you are starting your decluttering mission, it is best to start with items that you won’t miss, like expired make up, medication, etc.

Then once you have gained the strength and confidence, you can start tackling items that hold a bit more value to you, like clothes.

Whenever you start a big, new task, it’s always best to start small, and to always celebrate your accomplishments along the way.

Day 117 of 192

This is Saturday’s item.

When I was going through my possessions, I found some of my old lip balms. I have no idea as to why I have kept these. I probably had these for seven years, maybe even longer.

But the best thing about starting with stuff like expired items, whether it’s medication, make up or anything else. It is easy for us to discard these items. When we start with these items, we are building the strength and confidence for the harder items.

If you like to start your own decluttering journey, start with these items, and allow yourself to build up confidence. Remember you don’t have to purge your life in one day, always start small and keep on moving forward.

Even if you remove a few items from your life, you will be able to notice the benefits of living with less.

Day 9 of 192

Hi everyone! I forgot to write about this yesterday, so here’s another a double post of the Daily Decluttering!

I am done sorting through my cosmetics. Yay!

My goal is to never own this many make up products at once. It was just too overwhelming to look at all of the time.

Day 8 of 192

I am back on track. Starting the week off fresh.

I have been enjoying making these small changes in my life. I feel like it’s the small changes that has the bigger outcomes. I feel like now is the best time since some time next year, my boyfriend and I will be moving out to be on our own. I just feel like I don’t need to take all of these things with me. I have been slowly decluttering things from my life over the past years. I really like the idea of living with less things.

Day 7 of 192

Hey everyone, I had an eventful weekend so I did get a bit caught up to share my Sunday’s item for my decluttering mission.

I have decided that it is best to start fresh, especially with my cosmetics. It is dangerous to apply expired make up.

How is everyone doing with their decluttering mission? I may not be feeling lighter, but I know that my make up tin is.

I read in Marie Kondo’s book The Illustrated Guide to Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up that she says to thank all of the items you discard. I love that book.
