Making A List

Before my boyfriend and I went shopping, I made a list of everything that we needed. Although we didn’t exactly follow through with that because we bought more stuff than we originally planned.

I’m not one for waiting for the week before Christmas to finish my shopping I like to plan ahead and complete everything by Thanksgiving. That way I have more money around this time of year and I don’t have to cramped in a store with a lot of people.

It also helps me budget better too.

Today, I will plan ahead and make a list to help me prepare for my future.

Make A List

Christmas is upon us and I’ve been preparing a list of presents I would like to buy for my family and friends as well as my boyfriend. ❤

I have also been working on a list for all of the people and things I am grateful for.

Today, I will work a list that will inspire me.

Make A List

I didn’t make a list of my priorities instead I was just rolling with what I felt like doing. I tried my best but I have been doing a lot more exercises than I have lately so that tired me out. I felt like I didn’t do what I should have done. This is because I didn’t make a list of everything I needed. I feel stressed because now I’m uncertain if I have time to do everything I wish to do.

Today, I will make a list of everything that needs to get done and rank them from most important to least important. This will be helpful and less stressful.

Reaching Goals

Last night before I went to bed I wrote a list of things that I wanted to accomplish. I woke up within the first few minutes of my alarm which is an accomplishment because I usually pressed snooze for about an hour some days.

I woke up, did my stretches then did a Sudoku puzzle, ate breakfast and drank my tea. I washed the dishes and then I went for a shower. Tidied up my room and got rid of a few things in my desk drawer.

I feel quite proud of myself that I was able to accomplish a lot of things that I wanted to complete.

Today, I will write down my goals and work hard to complete them.

Be More Organized

I am in the midst of reorganizing my life by finding ways to improve myself. But today wasn’t that great, I had a really focus because I didn’t have a lot to do since it was all done. I forgot a lot of things which added more stress.

I decided that in order to correct my errors from happening that I should go back to creating a to-do list for myself. I found that that really work for me.

Today, I will make a list of everything that I must do and then check it twice.

21 Things You Might Not Know About Me…

In honour of my 21st post and my 21st birthday I decided to write a post about 21 things that displays myself in a manner that you might not know about me.

1. I have an older sister. She is absolutely amazing. I would be lost without her. She means the world to me.

2. I am a crafty kind of girl. I enjoy using my creativity to add some zest to my life. I make gifts for other people and for their different occasions like birthdays, mothers’ day and fathers’ day or gifts just because.

3. I love to cook. I can make anything from pasta to stir-frys and anything in between.

4. I am a book worm. I enjoy reading a book. I love cuddling under my duvet with a book and a cup of tea. It’s even more enjoyable when there’s a thunderstorm.

5. I have a morning and an evening routine. My morning consists of finding myself and starting my day off right. I eat a healthy breakfast with my morning tea. I read my daily readings and read something inspirational. Then I do my stretches and meditate for a few minutes. Every other day I do the stairs then shower. My evening routine consists of doing a quick tidying and then brewing a cup of sleepytime tea whilst writing my journal about my events and emotions throughout the day.

6. I am an inspirational person. I help other people find inspiration in their lives. I bring a quote of the day to my work. I inspire other people to be their better self and to create healthy habits.

7. I have many birthday traditions. Every year on my birthday I get someone to make me pancakes for breakfast. I go to my grandma’s for dinner and she always make me a cake. Now I’m adding these two things; going to my favourite book store and transferring money into my saving account.

8. I have a memory box. Throughout the year I add all of these positive things and memories to this box which I open the box on New Year’s Eve and reflect on my year.

9. Giraffes are my favourite animal. I love everything about them from their spots to their long necks.

10. I admire butterflies. They remind me of strength to let go of the past, darkness allows them to transform themselves into something beautiful. This allows me to think that no matter what happens something good is around the bend.

11. Yellow. My favourite colour is yellow. I love that it is a positive colour and it is quite bright.

12. My favourite flower are daisies. 🙂 I find them very beautiful.

13. My travelling wish. My dream vacation (possible Honeymoon idea) is to travel to Africa to attend a safari adventure. I would love to feed giraffes. There’s a hotel in Africa which is the only hotel in the world to offer this luxury of feeding giraffes breakfast. I have to start saving up!

14. I played baseball. I was on many baseball teams. I enjoyed every moment of it.

15. Pittsburgh Penguins are my favourite hockey team. I love Sidney Crosby. He’s amazing.

16. I love sewing. I have a sewing machine but I still sew by hand. I enjoy making pillows – well I buy the stuffing of a pillow and then sew two pieces of fabric together over the actual pillow. I love this.

17. I have several of nicknames. The list includes… Lil J, Giraffe Girl and the Girl in the Headband. Lil J comes from Gossip Girl – one of my favourite TV show. Although I would say that I’m a nicer person than her character.

18. My drink of choice is tea. Earl Grey is my absolute favourite!

19. I file away my cards. Every time I receive a card (birthday, Christmas, Get Well, etc.,) I file it away and whenever I feel sad I read about all of the awesome things people have written about me.

20. Less is more. I love the simple things in life. “Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.”

21. I love lists. I make lists for everything – future goals, to-do lists, grocery list, you name it!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my list. 🙂

21 Wishes

In honour of my 11th post and that June 3rd – MY BIRTHDAY! is approaching at a rapid rate I dedicate this post to my goals that I have set for myself in my upcoming year.

I’ll be entering my third regeneration. I read in a book that it takes the human body seven years for it to renew all of our cells in our body. Every seven years it’s almost like you’re a new you.

I’m accepting gifts, by the way! 🙂

1. Blog more frequently. I have been extremely busy in the past few weeks so my blog may not be as up-to-date as I would like it to be.

2. Exercise more. I enjoy exercising. It helps me stay centred and focused.

3. To travel to a new place. This will be a joyous adventure. It will allow me to expand my adventurous side.

4. To cook a new recipe everyday. This is a good one. I love cooking. I have so many recipes in my recipe box. I will also reorganize and keep you posted with what I try. Maybe I’ll make a separate blog… I will keep you informed.

5. To brush up on my French. Learning a language helps your brain stay in shape and also improves your memory. I’ve been inspired by my coworkers who can speak another language other than English.

6. To not let perfection be the enemy of the good. From as long as I could remember I thought that in order to be “good enough” EVERYTHING had to be perfect. But I’ve been learning and feeling that being “perfect” is exhausting. “Flawed is more perfect than perfection.”

7. To overcome a fear. I have too many fears that I need to overcome to help me grow. They range from heights to trains/train tracks and many more.

8. Drink more water and less sugar. I was inspired when I went to a friend’s place and all we drank was tea and water. I feel healthy about myself. I love adding cucumbers and lemons to my water. It’s quite scrumptious!

9. Meditate. I need to work on this because it will help me stay present. I feel more relaxed when I find ten minutes or so a day clearing my thoughts. When I focus on the present I can truly let go of the past and stop obsessing about the future.

10. To learn something new everyday. I would love to learn something new everyday. I would be able to gain 366 titbits of wisdom that I can use to help others.

11. Save more money. I need to start saving money for my future. I know I said earlier that I wouldn’t worry about my future, but it is never too early to start saving. You never know what the future holds so it is best to be safe and prepared.

12. To declutter. I am beginning to fall in love with having less stuff. It’s more relaxing. It adds more value to things that I own. I know that I should only buy things that I need and these items would give me joy. And whenever I don’t use something I pass that on to another person who sees that value.

13. To continue being an inspiration to others. I will continue to inspire others to be the best they can. I recently inspired one of my friends to run in the morning. I’ve inspired others to be more positive but spreading my optimism with them. I told friends that my passwords are quotes. I feel proud of myself to inspire others.

14. To attend community events. This will help me socialize with others more and to get support that is available.

15. To spend more time on myself. I used to view this act as selfish. But I learned to look at life through an airplane analogy. If there’s an emergency and when the oxygen masks come down you are told to place the mask on you first not your child, not your spouse not anyone else but yourself first. So in order to help others you must learn to help yourself first.

16. Spend more time with family. Last year I dedicated a lot of my time and energy with this one friend who meant the world to me. But a lot of things happened. I realized that our friendship was quite a pernicious friendship. So now I’m striving towards to find a healthy balance between my friends and family.

17. Worry less. Everyone knows that I can worry a lot. Like A LOT. My worries can be about the smallest worries like breaking a key or deciding what to wear or what to bring with me when I pack to go out. Since I worry about what I should bring with me I overpack thinking I need this or I’ll totally use this item. But in reality I wouldn’t need any of those things. I just think I do. I need to reprogram my thoughts and direct my thinking towards something positive and inspiring.

18. Continue being more organized. I often find that I can be rushing out the door regardless of how much time I give myself to get ready. I need to focus more on better organizational skills. I’m also going to reorganize and decorate my room. “A successful morning is prepared in the evening.”

19. Write a book. I’ve heard of this challenge about writing a novel in a month. Which means you would have to write over 1,000 words every day for a month. I’m not that creative nor do I have time so I’m going to aim for a book before my 22nd birthday. I would have to write about 137 words a day everyday for the next 366 days and I would have about a 50,000 word novel.

20. Create new art projects. I enjoy being creative. I use my creativity to make people cards, presents, quote pages and I draw pictures to show people how much I care about them. Now I have to think of better crafts to showcase my artistic abilities.

21. Let go. Letting go of everything and everyone that no longer serves me. If I don’t feel joy I need to detach myself from the person, situation, event object, etc., I must accept that I cannot control everything and everyone. Even though I like things to be done in a certain way I must learn to let go. I seek perfection on all of my affairs. But it is important and necessary for me to let go and allow everything to happen.

I will try my best to complete all of these dreams that I have for myself. I will blog about my progress and my struggles from time to time.

Until next time…

Positive Minds Live Positive Lives

I would describe myself as a happy-go-lucky kind of gal. Everyone can tell that I’m a very optimistic person. I’m always smiling and laughing and telling the best stories. Even though this may come across as egotistical but I love to think that I inspire others to be positive and to content with themselves.

Although things weren’t always like that. But that’s for another blog post and another day.

I was reading my daily readings one day and I knew that what I had read was something I needed to work on. The reading was about confidence and that whatever happens in life happens to you because you have the strength to do it. I became inspired with what I read so I wrote it down on a piece of paper and took it with me to work. I devoted myself to bring a quote of the day everyday. This has been happening for the past month now and will always continue.

Today my coworker saw me glowing with optimism and he asked;

“Can I ask you a question?”

I replied with; “You just did but you can ask me another question.”

“How are you so positive?”

Hm… I started laughing and smiling.

“No, I’m serious. I’ve always been quite envious of your optimism.”

This is what inspired me to write a blog and to inspire others to become as positive as they want to be. I’ve been meaning to get around to write one but for some reason there was always something in the way.

Well I do a lot of things. I feel like I have to keep my mind busy which helps me get rid of the negative feelings that I allow myself to feel but then later change them because MY feelings are something I can control. If my thoughts are about another person, then I know that it is out of my control. If there is something I can do about it then I do that. If not, I accept that it is something beyond my control so I let it go.

What keeps me positive… Well there are a lot of things. Here’s a list of my Top Ten Things I Enjoy to do to Help Me Stay Positive And Happy

10. Yoga. I do my yoga after breakfast. I’m not sure if that’s the best time but it works for me.

9. Listen to positive music. I love keeping an up-beat environment especially when I organize/clean and de-clutter.

8. Meditate. I try my best to do this but it can be difficult. I like to experiment with various methods such as guided meditation or one that requires me to clear all of my thoughts.

7. Exercising. I love stretches and doing the stairs and going for a run. I enjoy that feeling I feel with all of the adrenaline racing through my veins.

6. Drinking a cup of tea especially when I’m with a friend because of all that we talk about. We share wisdom and knowledge with one another. My favourite is Earl Grey.

5. Laughing. I love to laugh and it keep my spirits up to the best of my ability.

4. Making arts and crafts for people and for myself. My latest art projects have been pillows and quote pages.

3. Cleaning. I love cleaning. It is something that relaxes me. I found that I feel even more relaxed after I clean because my surroundings become more organized.

2. Writing. I absolutely love writing. I journal whilst sipping my sleepy time tea every night before I go to bed. This relaxes me it’s my way of letting go of unwanted fears, thoughts and stuff that I cannot control.

1. Reading. As of lately I love self-help books. I’ve been reading a lot of Melody Beattie. After breakfast (but before yoga) I read from my daily readings that I place on my night table. I love starting my day with a healthy breakfast and a dose of inspiration.

I always get complimented because of my optimism; I am always laughing and smiling whenever I can. I am able to see the positive in everything.

“Do what makes you happy. Be with who makes you smile. Laugh as much as you breathe. Love as long as you live.”
