Minimalist Game Day 13

The rules are simple, you get rid of things from your life, either by selling them, throwing them away, or donating them. On the first day, you remove one item, and then on the second day, you remove two items, you keep on playing until it’s the end of the month, or whenever you run out of things to remove from your life. It is okay if you can’t make it until the end of the month. Personally, I would rather see items get donated, or sold to someone else. If you must throw something away, I hope it’s because it isn’t fixable. Even if you have removed three items from your life, you should still be proud of that, because it is three more things you removed before the challenge. But if you are able to complete this challenge, you would have gotten rid of almost 500 items! That’s a lot of stuff.

If you are participating, I would love to know what you are parting with, feel free to let me know in the comments. This is such a fun way to welcome Spring cleaning.

This is from Saturday March 13th.

In the first photo, I am giving away…

  • Eight tins of tea, two of them I gave to my sister, so she can fill them up for part of her daughter, and step son’s surprise for Easter.
  • A dancing flower, it dances when it has sun shining on it. I think my niece will get a kick out of that.
  • A pumpkin for my cousin, she loves Halloween. I don’t have any purpose for it anymore.
  • A candle that got recycled
  • This light up butterfly that I will ask my cousin if she wants to have this, too. I kind of grow out of it.
  • A pair of socks that I don’t wear.

Is anyone decluttering their belongings right now for Spring cleaning? I would love to know about your journey, and if you need any help.

This is from Friday March 12th.

I was still sorting through my jewelry box, like I said, I have too many pieces of jewelry. I am really glad that I departed with.

I am starting to feel lighter without having all of these things weighing me down. Especially items that didn’t make me happy anymore.

This is from Thursday March 11th.

At that time, I was going through my jewelry box, sorting through things I no longer wanted. I have gotten a large amount of jewelry such as necklaces, earrings, and bracelets for birthdays, and Christmas, and various other occasions. I don’t really wear much jewelry anymore. Mostly because I work at restaurants, and cafes, and we weren’t allowed to wear that. And now, I don’t really go out, so I don’t wear any.

I plan on letting my cousin go through my jewelry and seeing if she wants anything. And then I let my mom, and Grandma go through it afterwards. And then after that, whatever remains, my Grandma can clean and disinfect it, and see if she knows anyone that would want the rest.

How is everyone’s decluttering process going?

This is from Wednesday March 10th.

So far I am still working through my jewelry box. As you can jewelry was something that a lot of people have bought for me as gifts over the years. I am actually really happy that I have told people not to buy any more. I just have too much of it. It definitely came overwhelming for me to dig through all of these earrings, and bracelets.

Minimalist Game Day Nine

This is from Tuesday March 9th. I just have been so busy, and I’m trying my best to get all caught up for April the 10th, so I can start fresh again very soon.

I feel quite proud of myself with everything I have given away already. Last year, I had given away 192 items. I am really starting to feel a lot lighter now.

I have counted earrings as two items, because some of my earrings I have, only have one, instead of the set. So I thought I may as well count a pair of earrings as two items. You can make up your own rules with these challenges. Add your creativeness to the project.

From this post, I have parted with seven earrings, a ring, and necklace. I have a lot of jewelry over the years. I have told a lot of people that I no longer want any more jewelry as any gifts. Although my boyfriend is still allowed to buy some special pieces.

Minimalist Game Day Eight

The rules are simple, you get rid of things from your life, either by selling them, throwing them away, or donating them. On the first day, you remove one item, and then on the second day, you remove two items, you keep on playing until it’s the end of the month, or whenever you run out of things to remove from your life. So far I have parted away with 36 items. I am starting to feel a bit lighter already. I can’t wait to make it to the end of the month, because by then I would have parted away with 500 items. That is so exciting for me. I feel very proud of myself for partaking in this challenge.

I am getting rid of two mini backpacks. I am going to give them to my Grandma because I am sure that she will know someone who would want and or need them.

I was given this Name A Star kit, which I’m not sure how it works. But I apparently spent too much thinking of a really cool name for a star, I realized that it had expired. Which is too bad, but then I learnt that I was technically naming a star for Nasa, so… I’m not sure how it actually works.

I had those two towels from my childhood, they were probably part of my birthday presents. They are now old and raggedy. So maybe my Grandma could use them as rags for cleaning, or do something else with them. I already have enough towels.

I have three plants that unfortunately they all passed away. So I’m sure my Grandma can use these for her plants.

Minimalist Game Day Seven

This is from Sunday.

The rules are simple, you get rid of things from your life, either by selling them, throwing them away, or donating them. On the first day, you remove one item, and then on the second day, you remove two items, you keep on playing until it’s the end of the month, or whenever you run out of things to remove from your life. Here are my items…

These are the other seven tins of tea I no longer need or use. So I’m just going to give them to my Grandma, and she can decide what to do with it next.

Minimalist Game Day Six

This post is from Saturday.

The rules are simple, you get rid of things from your life, either by selling them, throwing them away, or donating them. On the first day, you remove one item, and then on the second day, you remove two items, you keep on playing until it’s the end of the month, or whenever you run out of things to remove from your life. These are my six items.

The first one is an empty perfume bottle that I have kept, instead of throwing it away. I guess I kept it since it was the first gift my boyfriend’s mom gave me.

The second one I’m going to regift to my sister, as part of her birthday present. I have a lot of perfumes, and body sprays.

The last four are various hair products, that I no longer use. My mom gave me to since she didn’t like them anymore.

Minimalist Game Day Five

This is from Friday.

The rules are simple, you get rid of things from your life, either by selling them, throwing them away, or donating them. On the first day, you remove one item, and then on the second day, you remove two items, you keep on playing until it’s the end of the month, or whenever you run out of things to remove from your life. But if you are able to complete this challenge, you would have got rid of almost 500 items! That’s a lot of stuff.

And I hope I can finish this project, despite the fact that I already gotten rid of 192 items last year, by removing one thing a day for 192 days.

If you are participating, I would love to know what you are parting with, feel free to let me know in the comments. This is such a fun way to welcome Spring cleaning.

These are five items…

I have yet another tea tin, that is empty. It held my peach matcha tea, but I prefer to have my matcha tea in a bag, I find that easier. So it would be silly for me to put anything in there that isn’t matcha tea in the tin. So it is time to get rid of this item.

I have two small tins of tea from samples of various tea kits. I don’t feel the need to keep these, so I’m going to ask my Grandmother, or my mom if either one of them will be interested in having these.

Next, I have my terrible attempt of painting an ocean for my boyfriend’s birthday present. I have no desire of keeping it, and trying to make it into something else.

Lastly, I used to keep my spare change in 2L pop bottles (one for nickels, dimes, quarters, and one for loonies and toonies). But since my boyfriend and I aren’t using that much cash, because a lot of places haves stopped accepting it, we are just using one tea tin to store all of our change. A side note is that my boyfriend and I no longer drink that much soda as we often used to. I feel really healthy and happy about that. We mostly just drink water, tea, and lattes, and the occasional cup of coffee. We make sure we have a cup of green tea every day.

Minimalist Game Day Four

This is from Thursday.

The rules are simple, you get rid of things from your life, either by selling them, throwing them away, or donating them. On the first day, you remove one item, and then on the second day, you remove two items, you keep on playing until it’s the end of the month, or whenever you run out of things to remove from your life. Here are my four items… I have deciding to sort through my tea ware, and teas, and their tins first, since that would be the easiest for me. I have bought this sample kit, awhile ago, so I have decided to part with these small jars. I am going to offer these to my Mom and see if she wants to keep these for her spices, or for whatever else she thinks of keeping these for. And if she doesn’t want any of these, then she can give them to her mom. Although they do need a good cleaning.
