Day 63

I know I have told this story before, but I have many new followers since I have told this story. I used to live with my mom, before I moved in with my boyfriend and his family. I didn’t want to bring all of my possessions with me to his house. He already had a lot of people, and things in his house. I left the less important things in my room, with the intention of going back there to grab the rest of my stuff. What made it challenging was, it was a long bus ride in between our places. I never felt comfortable having to carry like four bags, and having it take up extra space on the bus.

And at one point my sister lived with my mom, too. So she had her things there, too. My mom was going to use that room for her friend to stay there for a bit. My sister’s boyfriend drove us to my mom’s house, so we can grab our things. Although because they didn’t really plan a lot of time to go through and sort through everything. We did it the lazy way, and just threw everything into a container, and we would just decide to organize it later. So, that is what we did.

And I got settled into a new place last year with my boyfriend, and his friend, so I was finally ready to deal with my stuff. I am tired of having a lot of things in my life. I thought I had sorted through everything, but when my sister’s boyfriend was cleaning out the basement, he had discovered that I had another container of my things. I sorted through the last container of my things from my old room. I feel quite happy about myself.

It is a freeing experience to part with things that you no longer use anymore. I love knowing that there is someone else out there, who is going to use this way more than me.

Today, I will think twice about adding more possessions into my life, and if these items really add value to my life. Sometimes it’s best to just part ways with it, and give it to someone else. It truly is an liberating feeling of owning less. When you have less items in your life, there is less to worry about. When you have less to worry about, you can truly work on the things that add value and happiness in your life.

Day 30

When you work together, you will be able to accomplish more together, than what you can accomplish on your own. Yesterday, we began moving and packing my mom’s things. We were able to do it fairly quickly, because we all worked together.

In life, it is important that we work together, rather than alone. I mean, yeah, there are some things that we can do alone, but sometimes it’s more fun to work as a team.

Today, I will recognize the benefits of working as a team. It is a lot of fun to work together. The more the merrier.

Thankful Thursdays #31 – January 28th, 2021

This is one of my favourite posts to write! I love to write and think about what I am thankful for. I hope I inspire you to think and reflect what you are grateful for throughout the week.

Here is a list of things that make me grateful.

  1. I am grateful that I get to babysit my niece, when her parents work. I enjoy the time we get to spend together. We read books, and we have tea parties together. Well, not real tea parties, yet, since she is almost two. We just pretend. But it’s still a lot of fun.
  2. I am grateful that my Grandparents helped my mom and myself pack up my mom’s stuff for her move. My mama has a lot of things, so I appreciated any help.
  3. I was able to pick up my holds at the library the other day. Picking up books at the library is always fun. I can’t wait to read them all. I am always excited to read books that I have never read before.
  4. I am thankful for talking to my friends, and family members especially when I have days where I feel upset, or sad about something.
  5. When I saw my Grandma the other day, she gave me her blanket that she meant to give us awhile ago when she gave us the set it goes with. It’s really warm, and cozy. It’s the perfect reading blanket.

Let me know what you are thankful for in the comments!

Day 12

Hey, sorry everyone. I had a busy day yesterday. I was helping my mom out with her packing for her move. And before I helped I had made chicken noodle soup and took a shower before seeing her.

I feel like her and I were able to get a lot done. I was trying to teach her how it was important to pack like items into a box, instead of what fits. I feel from experience, that packing like items in the same boxes makes things a lot easier when you are trying to unpack.

Today, I will try my best to organize things as I go. I will try to keep like items together in my house. I will try to find a “home” for every item, as well. Whenever I am finish with that item, I will be sure to put it back where I got it from.

Day 56 of 192

I thought the exact same thing the following year, that I was going to go back and reread these posts. I did not. The sad part about this is that I actually packed this item and brought this with me into my new place. Eventually, when the time comes again, we’ll be moving to a new place, hopefully on our own, this time around.

I love her writing, and I have read all of her books.

I already have eliminated 56 items, thus far. I have seen other items that will be not be coming with us to our new home. That really excites me, and makes me feel proud of myself.
