National Ice Cream Day

Hi everyone!

Did you know that the third Sunday of July is National Ice Cream Day? Well it is!

My boyfriend and I stayed in and celebrated this “holiday”! We also celebrated meeting six years ago, today. So that was a lot of fun.

We had chocolate ice cream with peanut butter, and mini peanut butter cups. It is as delicious as it sounds!

S’mores Chai Iced Latte Float

Hi, sorry I didn’t write this yesterday, I was so tired from work. But here is my Tea Tuesday post, on a Wednesday!

I was at least able to document my tea experience yesterday. I had a S’mores Chai iced latte float, topped with chocolate and peanut butter ice cream. Oh, my goodness! It was delicious.

As you might not have known, S’mores Chai is my favourite tea right now. I first tried last year, and I immediately fell in love with it. It’s a rich chocolate treat, with bits of marshmallows, and graham crackers. It is a pu’erh tea, which in order words, an energizing tea.

First, I like a strong tea, so I can let this tea steep for as long as I want to, because it has an even richer flavour after several of hours. I have it as an iced tea, so I don’t have to worry about it being cold. Last summer, I would steep it before going to bed, and having it first thing in the morning.

This time, I only steeped it for about an hour or so, placed ice in it. Next I frothed my milk under the cold stir setting. I then poured in the milk, and topped it off with a scoop of my chocolate and peanut butter ice cream, as a special treat. Because life is too short, to not treat yourself.

Tea Tuesdays – Peanut Butter Cup Latte

I decided to be a bit adventurous with today’s tea. Introducing my peanut butter cup latte with melted peanut butter on top.

If you’re a fan of peanut butter, then you would definitely love this treat.

I am fortunate enough to have peanut butter cup tea, although you can still add this to any chocolate or banana teas, or any type of tea, depending on how adventurous you are.

If you are having this as a latte, I recommend only filling your mug half way. If you are not having a latte, you can fill to any amount. Add in any sugars or sweeteners, if desired.

What I did was allow my tea to steep my tea for about 10 minutes. Depending on the type of tea you use, be sure to follow the steeping instructions.

I begin frothing my milk, I begin to add a teaspoon of peanut butter in a microwaveable bowl for 30 seconds, take it out, stir, place back in the microwave for an additional 30 seconds, depending on how thick or melted you prefer. When the milk is done frothing, pour over the tea. And then finish with the melted peanut butter. And enjoy!

I melted my peanut butter for 45 seconds.

Jasmine Rice With Peanut Sauce

I made myself Jasmine rice – my favourite! I decided to also make Peanut sauce to have with my rice. It’s really fast and easy! Another plus it doesn’t require that many ingredients.

Directions

  1. Place a few tablespoons of peanut butter in a microwaveable bowl. The time will depend on how much peanut butter you add and your microwave. I put mine for 42 seconds. I wouldn’t do anything that goes over a minute.
  2. Add lime juice, however much you desire.
  3. Sprinkle red pepper flakes or another spice you like
  4. Mix it and serve.

I got the recipe from Rachel Ray. I love that girl! 🙂 I remember my Dad gave me one of her cookbooks for Christmas. ❤

Waffles

I had lunch with my boyfriend’s brother and he made us waffles the way he enjoys it.

First, you toast the waffles then you spread peanut butter and you top it with honey.

It was interesting but delicious! 🙂
