Courage

I hope everyone is having a good week, my week could definitely be a bit better.

I didn’t draw this, but I came across this photo on Facebook. I love Oprah Winfrey and quotes.

But with this whole pandemic going on, I have been doing some soul searching and wanting to try new things. One of my dreams is to write a book, and become a published author. I have been working hard on brainstorming ideas, and manifesting my dream to the universe.

I believe that everyone has a goal inside of them. All you need is to dig deep within yourself, and let the universe know what you would like for yourself.

Captain of Your Soul

It’s time to start our weeks out with positive vibes. We need to regain confidence in ourselves. Sometimes we are guilty of doubting ourselves, or that we let other people decide what we should do next, rather than us simply listening to our hearts. We are the captain of our soul, no one else is.

It is okay, to seek advice from others, but we shouldn’t give them the power to make all of our decisions for us. We should only seek guidance and their opinions to help us make a decision, but don’t let someone make decisions on behalf of yourself.

Some days it may be harder to believe in yourself, but it is absolutely necessary.

Follow Your Compass

So with another year coming to a close, another year is about to begin. I figured we could all use some motivation to begin the best year of our lives. I believe this is the perfect quote to conclude 2020, and begin the new year with this knowledge.

Some people are so obsessed with time. They feel like in order to be successful, they must have a degree by the age of 23, get married at 25, buy a house at 26, start a family when they are 27, and continue building a family through their early 30s, make time to travel the world by 45. And the list just keeps on going. And they probably feel if there are any set backs that prevents them from achieving these goals, which set backs almost likely to happen, they aren’t successful in their eyes.

I am not hating on anyone that may have these goals for themselves, by any means. But at the same time, you shouldn’t feel the need to put an exact age on these goals for yourself. What we should realize is that, it is a good thing to set goals for ourselves. But to the point we are stressing ourselves out by placing (sometimes) an unrealistic time frame on ourselves, it s not okay. You can still be successful if you buy a house at the age of 35.

A solution to this problem is to that we follow our compass instead of a clock. We would feel happier about the journey, instead of feeling like we are running against a clock. Stressing out about running out of time, is what is going to take away the moment of happiness, joy and success of these goals.

We should just let our lives unravel the way it is meant to be, instead of stressing out of completing a goal by a certain age. You can still achieve goals without having it done by a special age. What matters is that we accomplished a goal.

A Photographer’s Perspective

It’s another edition of our weekly quote, to get us started this week. Hopefully it is off to a great start.

This quote can sum up 2020. Yes, the year gave us a lot of heart ache, anxiety, and overall it was a difficult year for the majority of us. But it just meant that we need to change our attitude and perspective on certain things. Let’s focus on how 2020 helped us want to better ourselves, what it taught us, and what changes it made us want for ourselves.

This is a reminder that no matter how difficult something is, it doesn’t mean that things won’t get better, they will. All it takes is a change of how we see things. Don’t let bad times bring you down, just know that these bad times are just part of the journey.

Pandemic

I can’t believe that we are near the end of 2020. 18 days left. I’ve been trying my hardest to make the best of the situation of what the year has thrown at us.

The whole Covid-19 pandemic has taught me valuable lessons such as, make time for what matters, don’t procrastinate, and always be grateful. Mind you I did have a grasp of these concepts but this reminded me to enforce these ideas even more.

One of the negatives from the viruses, is that they have been many families who have lost loved ones from the virus. My heart goes out to everyone who is hurting. Things might not get easier, but one thing for sure is that we do stronger. I am so thankful for the health workers and everyone who is at the front lines battling this disease.

Although I feel sad, because it seems to me, like a lot of people are divided over this virus. Mostly because there are people who think this is a hoax. And these people are calling the ones that do believe in this virus mean names. I don’t like how people have become divided on the topic. I wished that this would have brought us closer together (well, from six feet apart). We really do need to work together on this to help each other.

This virus has helped others focus on their mental health, which is something that we don’t always talk about enough. But it allowed others to seek help, they might not have if it weren’t for the virus. It allowed us to finally put our mental health as a priority.

It has given me more time to truly wonder what I want to do with my life. I always dreamt of being my own boss, by wanting to be a writer, and blogger. But I also want to be a psychologist to help people as well. I believe that we all have the power to make better choices.

One of the benefits from Covid-19, is that I am a bit scared of germs, so I have always been cautious of germs. I do feel a bit relieved that now I am not the only one that is taking precautions when it comes to germs. I felt like people have always made fun of me, behind my back, and sometimes even to my face. And now it is a nice situation where people are now more cautious. I just hate the circumstances of what held to these events. But there are measures in place to ensure we are all safe, or at least the safest we can be.

I have always been worried about germs since, as long as I can remember. It stemmed from childhood. When I move, I prefer to spend time cleaning my new space before I move my belongings in. When I moved in with my boyfriend, and his family, that was a big adjustment to me. I only felt comfortable washing my dishes. These habits do cause me to feel stress. I do have a lot of struggles adapting to new things and places. All we can do is learn to take things one day at a time.

Another benefit of the pandemic is that it really showed me what I really want to do in my life. I learned that I don’t want to work for someone else’s dream. I want to work on my dream. My dream is to be a writer, and a blogger. I know my chances are making it big, and famous are probably just one percent, but some other famous person had the same thought, and yet they ended up fulfilling their goals. As am I.

“With everything that has happened to you, you can feel sorry for yourself, or treat what has happened as a gift. Everything is either an opportunity to grow or an obstacle to keep you from growing. You get to choose.”

Advent Calendar of Kindness 2020 Day 12

This world needs more love, and right now we are in a dark place from the whole pandemic. People are in debt, not being happy. But what we can is, we can make others feel happy and good about themselves. Let’s learn to look past the negatives, and these hardships, and instead try our best to focus on the positives. There are positive times, but right now, it is just going to take a bit longer to actually see them.

Today’s challenge is leave a note for someone in your household to find. This note can have anything written on it. You can leave it in their coat, or their lunch bag, or you can hide it somewhere else, maybe a bit harder. You can write a positive affirmation, a favourite memory, a song lyric, a thank you, or I love you. Or if you are better at expressing your feelings through art, and drawing, you can draw them a quick sketch. I’m sure whatever you choose to decorate this note, I’m sure they will still love it.

Fuel Your Passion

Don’t let your fears hold you back from your true desires. You are born to do great things. Keep on fueling your fire of greatness. Never let someone put out your fire, or even yourself for that matter. Everyone can achieve their goals, if they keep on working towards them, and never give up.

Keep on moving forward, even if it is small baby steps. Any forward progress is still progress.

December Goals

So I am pretty exciting for a new month, as it means new goals that I get to think of for myself. I have already thought of goals that I would try out this month.

My boyfriend and I are going to go to work towards spending less money on luxurious items, in order to save some, and put towards paying off more of our debts. Which will be really amazing. I am look forward to that.

I have already thought of an idea that I think would make for a good novel, perhaps. I know I’m a bit late, but every November, writers are encouraged to write a novel in those 30 days. I plan on doing that, but I plan on doing that in January since I was a bit busy in November. Then once I complete it, I am going to read it and edit it, so hopefully I’ll be able to share that with you sometime in February. They say the average book has about 50,000 words, so it works out to be 1,667 words a day. Especially you are just focusing on writing your idea, and then after that you spend time dedicating to the editing process.

I would like to make more trying new recipes, because that sounds like a lot of fun.

I am also working on ideas of how I can make 2021 the best year ever! More to come with that idea.

I will also keep on blogging daily, which is always a lot of fun. I can’t’ wait to find out what your December goals are.

What You Don’t Want Becomes What You Need

Hey, everyone! Let’s start our week off with positive vibes and thoughts.

Perhaps you have thought, “Why life has been throwing curveballs at you?”, and you don’t know why at first. The universe isn’t punishing you. It is giving you new perspective and sometimes even a new beginning. It may be hard to see it now, but it may be everything you need.

You can’t see a rainbow, until after you go through a storm. The universe has a crazy plan for all of us. There may be times where we don’t see that things will work out for us, but things actually work out better than we can ever imagine. What we may not realize was the crazy detour the universe gave us, was just what we needed.

Whenever you are going through something, just trust the universe knows what is best. It might just take some time to get use to the changes, but things will get better. You’ll soon realize why you needed to go through these transformations. When these events unfold, you’ll be truly grateful for these events.

Happy Thanksgiving!

To all of my followers who are celebrating Thanksgiving this week, I hope you had a safe, but wonderful day. I know it must not have the one you were hoping to have, because maybe you had to it virtually, or other traditions couldn’t be done this year.

I love Thanksgiving so much, that I always make sure I have a delicious meal, because I also pretend it’s Thanksgiving (again!), I’m Canadian, so I had already celebrated it last month. I made myself a delicious bowl of soup. I like to partake by watching the football games, although I was sad, because my team (Pittsburgh Steelers) didn’t get to play since Baltimore had an outbreak of Covid-19. But hopefully they all make a recovery.

But it’s important to feel gratitude every day. I hope everyone was able to find something to be thankful for. This definitely has been a challenging for everyone.

Remember it is best to count your blessings, instead of your burdens.
