What is New With Me?

Firstly, hey everyone! I hate that it has been so long since my last post! But I hope that everyone is well. This year has been difficult. I’ve been feeling down most days. I’ve been feeling sad because of the losses I have encountered this year, so that’s been a bit challenging trying to find the positives in things as of now.

I’ve been working two jobs, which can be tiring, but it has also been rewarding, too. Since I am always working a lot, I end up not having as much time to myself as I would like to have. I do miss having more time to cook some of my delicious meals. So I try to make sure that I budget my time wisely to ensure I get things done and that I can make time for fun. I’ve also been able to try out new restaurants, and making time for people. I’ve also been getting my nails done, which has been a lot of fun! I do enjoy having an active social life.

And during the transition of starting my two jobs, my Grandma passed away. I was really upset about it, because my Grandma helped shaped me into the person that I am today. She has taught me so much, like how to be polite and the importance about using my manners. She passed down her love for cooking and baking to me. Although I feel like I have lost her even before she passed away, because she was sick for throughout a good portion of my life. So I was slowly watching her lose who she was piece by piece. But I am able to find comfort in the fact that she is now reunited with my Grandpa in Heaven.

I have recently reconnected with a friend last year, but it just been feeling like there has been a lot of space between us as of lately. So that can be lonely somedays, and can make me feel a bit sad. I think about my friend from time to time, always sending them good vibes. But this friend does bring me a lot of happiness, so I am glad that we got to reconnect. I think the last time I saw was about eight years ago, or so. We still talked during those times. I’m glad that we are apart of each other’s lives again!

Throughout the year I have been blessed to reconnect and talk to people I haven’t spoken to for a little while, which has been so much fun catching up with everyone. I am thankful for the people who have been by my side no matter what has happened between us.

I am hoping that this year can end on a positive note. This year and the year prior has been difficult for me. I still plan on achieving my goals that I have put in place for myself. I want to go back to school, but I am still figuring what I want to pursue, which for some reason has been challenging, because I can envision myself doing many different jobs.

But I also have some other goals that aren’t job focused per se, such as making more time for reading, and blogging, saving up money, and going through my belongings and the things I own. In hope that I can remove some of the excess stuff that I no longer need. I also want to work on saving up so I can travel! I miss being able to write my own stories. I have written some short stories on here before. I will probably edit them and make them better. But if you are interested in reading these stories. https://yellowdaisies3.wordpress.com/category/writing-wednesdays/

I actually want to start a book club, where hopefully a few people on here will be interested in joining me talk about the book of the month. I have never really been a part of a book club, but I have always wanted to partake in them. I have read a few books from the Oprah Winfrey’s Book Club, and Reese’s Book Club. But I unfortunately haven’t been able to interact with everyone else who has read the books.

I cannot wait to be able to make these goals and dreams happen for me! I hope that the end of this year can lead into a happy and adventurous 2023! I am so beyond happy for myself!

I will be talking more about my Book Club which I have worked out the details of the book I have selected and think of some discussion questions. I am so excited! This is my first time hosting a Book Club, so I do need a bit of research first. Stay tuned!

I would love to know how everyone has been over this year! I would love to catch up with all of you! Please comment and I’ll reach out to everyone. It can be anything from your biggest struggle, a triumph, something that you accomplished, or something you wish to accomplish, or anything you wish to talk about. I would love to reconnect with my followers!

With Love,
Three Yellow Daisies xo

WWW Wednesdays – March 17th, 2021

Hey bookworms! This is the post where we talk about books, and what we are reading by answering the following questions…

  1. What have I finished reading?
  2. What am I currently reading?
  3. What will I read next?
  1. What have I finished reading?

Unfortunately with my Grandpa being in the hospital and him passing away, I entered a reading slump. I had a hard focusing on reading any books, so I didn’t finish reading anything.

2. What am I currently reading?

The beginning of the book is a little bit sad, it reminded me of my Grandpa. He was the youngest of six siblings, so he saw all of his siblings leave their family home when he was young. And in the book, Kya she sees her siblings leave their house, too. And it took me awhile to read it, since I kept on thinking about my Grandpa.

Day 75

This lesson is from Tuesday March 16th.

I recommend that everyone spends some time in nature. Getting fresh air, and letting the sun embrace you is so good for our health. The sun gives us a lot of vitamins that helps improve our immune system. It also helps lift our spirits, and helps us feel better. I love spending time outside. I am so happy that warmer weather is almost here. I enjoy reading on our front porch with a cup of tea. I feel like it calms me down, and helps me feel better.

The best part is if you are busy, and don’t have a lot of spare time, that’s okay, because you don’t need to spend a lot of time outside in order to gain all of the benefits. In fact, spending too much in the sun, especially without sunscreen, can increase your risk of developing skin cancer. So if you plan on spending a lot of time outside, I suggest that you wear a hat, and that you continue to reapply sunscreen that way you are protected from the sun rays.

Today, I will ensure that I spend some time outside to allow the sun to give me many healthy vitamins. Spending a bit of time outside will help me feel better and healthy.

Hey bookworms! Let’s talk about books!

I have a lot of books I would love to read. I am trying to spend more reading to try to work through my To Be Read List.

I have bought this book, Help Me: My Perfectly Disastrous Journey Through the World of Self-Help for my boyfriend as one of his birthday presents two years ago. I feel bad because in those two years, neither one of us have read it, yet. I am planning on reading this book once I finish reading my library books.

This book sounds similar to The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. It’s similar because Marianne Power plans on reading 12 self-help books in one year. And each month, she plans on following exactly what the book preaches, and then she would see if that book had benefited in some way. She investigates whether or not reading self help books can make your life any better.

Hey bookworms!

Let’s talk about books! This is a post where I discuss all the books that I have been reading, by answering the following questions…

  1. What have I finished reading?
  2. What am I currently reading?
  3. What will I read next?

Unfortunately, I didn’t have much time to myself this week, so I wasn’t able to finish a lot of books as I was hoping for. I managed to finish one book, which was a really good book.

  1. What have I finished reading?

This book was suspenseful. It is my first book that I have read by Chris Bohjalian. I can’t wait to read his other stories. This novel tells the tale about how a flight attendant, Cassie finds her in some trouble. She just traveled to Dubai as one of her travels for work. She wakes up in the wrong hotel room, where she finds out she is laying next to some guy. She then looks at him, and realizes that he is dead. She is far way from home, and doesn’t know what she do.

I can’t wait to start watching the TV show soon.

My rating: 3.75 stars out of 5

2. What am I currently reading?

I first picked up this book up when I wanted to watch this series. I have this thing, that I like reading the books before I watch the shows, or movies.

3. What will I read next?

I love reading Ruth Ware, she writes suspenseful, and thriller novels. I haven’t read one of her books in awhile. I have been waiting for this book a little while now from the library.

Day 48

I have learnt throughout my life that life is stressful. But there are things that we can do in order to make life less stressful, which is why yesterday I spent the day having a marathon of my favourite show. It was just so much fun to curl up in my blankets and drink hot chocolate throughout the day. I also spent some time finishing my book, and making a delicious beef soup.

I have been feeling busy and a bit stressed as of lately, so I needed some me time to unwind. I just focused on things that make me happy. I think it is important that we all take a day off, to truly focus on ourselves. A day where we can forget our problems, and forget about how imperfect the world is. One way to make sure that you always have a Me Day once week, at least, if you can. An easy way to do this is to schedule it like you would with a doctor’s appointment.

Today, I will focus on taking a Me Day. It’s important to take some time to focus on ourselves. I will remind myself that it isn’t selfish to focus on myself. In fact it is necessary to focus on ourselves. It is important to reinvent ourselves. Focus on what makes you, you. There are several ways you can focus on yourself, watch your show, make yourself a cup of tea, eat your favourite foods, stuff like that. Do whatever makes you happy.

Goodreads Mondays #18 – February 15th, 2021

This is the post where we discuss what is on our To Be Read List, and why we want to read these books. I have over 1,300 books on my To Be Read List. I have so much reading to do.

This week I would love to talk about P.S. I Love You. It’s about this young couple, who are in their 30s, plan on living with the rest of their lives together. Until her love of her life, Gerry is diagnosed with a terminal illness. Knowing that he is about to die, he decides to write Holly letters so she has something to remember him by. Shortly after he passes away, Holly is upset, and refuses to move on without Gerry. She must find a way to accept his loss, and sort of live out her life.

I watched the movie awhile ago with my mom, and I loved it a lot. I am really looking forward to reading this book.

Thankful Thursdays #33 – February 11th, 2021

I love talking about I am thankful for every week. I hope you are able to take some time and begin reflecting on what you are grateful for, and are able to have gratitude towards.

Here is my list… Feel free to share yours.

  1. I got to babysit my niece twice in a week, we had a lot of fun. I got to take her out sledding, which she always enjoys. I love seeing her smile.
  2. I am thankful that I got to make a craft with her to give to her parents for Valentine’s Day. My sister loved it!
  3. I am grateful that my boyfriend and I got to spend an extra day together, we spent it watching a movie, and watching our shows.
  4. I was reading to my niece Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein. I was so grateful and happy when my niece wanted to hear another poem. She loves it when I read to her. She loves looking at all of the illustrations, and helping me turn the pages.
  5. Lastly, I am grateful that I got to spend some time with my sister when she came back from work.

I know there are probably other things I am thankful for, but this is my top five.

WWW Wednesdays – February 10th, 2021

Hi everyone, I’m just trying to play catch up over here! I hope everyone is doing well!

Let’s talk about books! This is a post where I discuss all the books that I have been reading, by answering the following questions…

  1. What have I finished reading?
  2. What am I currently reading?
  3. What will I read next?

I had an amazing week last week. I was able to read three books!

  1. What have I finished reading?

I read this book in middle school. It was a really book. I loved it. This book tells a tale about friendship, and courage. A new girl becomes best friends with her neighbour. She shows him the woods by their houses, a place where only they know. They decide to call it Terabithia. It was a place that made them forget about the bullies at school. It’s such a heartfelt story. After I finished reading the book, I watched the movie with my boyfriend. What I loved about the movie, is that they kept it the same from the book, I love that about movie adaptations. It is targeted for middle school kids, but you can still enjoy it if you’re an adult, too.

My rating: 5 stars out of 5

And

I felt nostalgic, so I wanted to read other books from my middle school days. My Mom, and my Dad bought me this book set collection for my 13th birthday. I loved reading these books, although, I haven’t actually read all of the books before. My mom and I started to read these books together, since she read them when she was younger, too. Although I guess we just got busy with life, and didn’t get to finish these books. There are nine books in the series, and I believe my mom and I got to the third book.

These stories are based on real life adventures of Laura Ingalls Wilder and her family during the pioneer days. Her father worked really hard to hunt enough food for his family. Laura is the middle child, and she loves playing with her sisters, and helping her mom out with the chores. She also loves hearing her Dad sing, and play on his fiddle before bed.

My rating: 5 stars out of 5

And

This is the second book of the series. I thought I may as well read this book, too. I can these quite fast. I love the illustrations throughout the book. Garth Williams have done illustrations for Stuart Little, and Charlotte’s Web. In the second book, it is about their move from Wisconsin to Kansas City, and all of the adventures about building a log house, going into town. I really enjoy this book, a lot. I would recommend these books to anyone.

My rating: 4 stars out 5

2. What am I currently reading?

I picked this book again, after I read some of my books from my middle school days. This book is suspenseful. Flight attendant, Cassie wakes up in a hotel room, with a hangover, from drinking the night before. What she notices is this isn’t her hotel room. And she soon realizes that she wakes up to a guy she was hanging out with the night before. She takes a closer look at him, and discovers that he isn’t breathing. She can’t remember much, or anything at all for that matter. She is far away from home, and not sure what to do next.

3. What will I read next?

I am so excited for this book. I have amazing things about this book, and TV show. I haven’t watched the show yet, but I would love to read the books first, so I can watch the show.

What are some of the books you have read, or will like to read? Let me know in the comments!
