Day 65

This lesson is from Saturday.

Even when the weekend comes around, you should try you’re best to stick to your routine. I know it’s tempting not to stick to a routine. But it is necessary to help you stick to your routine, that you have for yourself. Mind you, it’s okay if there’s something that pops up, and prevents you from sticking to your routine. Take one day to rest. What I find challenging, is when you skip two days in a row. That’s where I feel like you lose your motivation. It’s harder to regain back, when you skip so many days.

Today, I will try my best to maintain a routine, and keep working towards my goals. Although I know it is challenging to work towards on the weekend. But I know if I start skipping out on too many days, I might not be able to regain my motivation back.

Thankful Thursday #35 – February 25th, 2021

Hey everyone! I have so much to be thankful for this week.

This is one of my favourite posts that I get to write. Each week I write about all that I was thankful throughout the week. I would love to hear your list.

  1. I am thankful for my mother inviting me over for dinner on Wednesday, it was a nice treat. I haven’t seen my Grandparents in awhile, so I was happy to spend time with them.
  2. When I babysat my niece last Tuesday, my sister helped my niece make something for me for Valentine’s Day. I was so grateful for that. It’s a picture that she coloured. It’s so cute! My sister bought me chocolates.
  3. I am grateful that I started getting into a stricter routine of yoga. I made a promise to myself that I couldn’t go to bed to bed, until I logged in some minutes of yoga. I learned that it is okay to skip one day, but once you skip two days in a row, it makes getting back into the routine so much harder.
  4. I am thankful that my boyfriend and I started playing a new game on his phone that has been a lot of fun. It gives us something more to bond over.
  5. I am grateful that my boyfriend and I spent a lot of time together. His hours were effected because of the pandemic, so he was home a little more than usual. And that’s okay. But it made us more appreciative for the things we have already.

Day 55

This lesson was from Wednesday.

I started thinking of more goals, and taking my goals more seriously. I began brainstorming of ways I can work towards my goals. I have started drinking more green tea more regularly, and I have been practicing yoga every day. I made a check list of the things I wanted to work on for My Happiness Project, so I have also added a spot for drinking green tea in my notes. It seems like a small way to incorporate ways of starting a new habit. But I think it’s easy and necessary for me to do this to get into the habit of these new goals for myself.

Today, I will work towards finding new ways that motivate me to set and reach my goals. Perhaps it is an app that helps track my progress, or it’s a checklist that I made myself. Or another way is set a reminder on your phone that reminds you to spend time working on that goal. When I find easy solutions of reaching my goals, I will be more inclined to make new goals for myself.

Green Tea

I am starting to drink green tea once a day now. I have started this many times, before but this time, I am taking it very seriously. There are many great benefits to drinking tea. Although it is best to have green tea plain (no milk, or sugar added), to truly reap in the benefits. Some of the benefits include a decrease risk of having strokes, and various cancers because of all of the antioxidants in the tea. It can help improve brain function, and even help slow down the brain from aging.

Although a word of caution, green tea does have a lot of caffeine, so if consuming caffeine keeps you from falling asleep, be sure to have it in the morning, or early afternoon. I normally have a cup of green tea when I wake up and after my yoga.

I have started noticing that my brain is more focused on reading, and blogging. I have only started drinking green tea not too long ago.

Day 54

This lesson is from Tuesday.

I help my sister out by babysitting my niece because my sister, and boyfriend work on throughout the week. My niece is almost two years old. Even though it’s winter where we live, I try to take her outside for some fresh air. I just make sure she is all bundled up to go outside. She has a good time. We usually go sledding, or I just take her to the park, and watch her play. I push her in the swings. She seems to have a lot of fun outside.

I like to take her outside right before her nap. Well I let her have to something to eat before her nap. But I like to think that her being out before her nap, helps her feel tired for her nap, which gives her a deeper sleep.

It is also important for us, even as adults to go outside, and get some fresh air. Even if we only have five minutes to spare. Bonus if you go out while the sun is out. Going outside helps relaxes us, too. I’ve been getting outside by taking a walk in my neighbourhood, or by walking to the library.

Today, I will make an effort that ensures I get some form of fresh air every day. Whether it to take a walk, or to just have a cup of coffee or tea on the patio, or balcony or front porch. Don’t let the cold weather stop you from enjoying the benefits of being outside. Always bundle up, and watch out for any ice, if there is any.

Day 53

Hey everyone, I just had a crazy, but eventful week. I hope that everyone is doing well. So this is actually my life lesson from last Monday. I learned so much this week, and I more than happy to share that with everyone. I am looking forward to catching up with everyone, especially getting to know my new followers. Thank you for the support and love. It means so much to me.

What I learned last Monday, is to learn to rest, not quit. I began getting into a yoga schedule, finally. I have been practicing yoga, on and off for a little while now, but I just haven’t been able to find a schedule to do it more regularly, until last week. There are times that my yoga routine can get tiring, and sometimes it can be challenging as well. But what is important for me, was that I learned to take a rest, instead of quitting something that challenged me. I just have to keep on pacing myself. It’s best not to quit something that has positive benefits on the mind and body. This philosophy can be applied to anything, not just to yoga practices. It’s important and necessary that you pace yourself to work towards your goals.

Today, I will understand that it is necessary to never give up on working towards my goals. I will figure out a way to incorporate taking rests and breaks, instead of giving up on whatever I am working on. When you accomplish your goals, you will be so happy that you learn that taking breaks were necessary, and that you didn’t quit your goal because your goal became tiring.

Day 19

I couldn’t really sleep the night before, so I decided it’s best to do something productive with my time. At the same I was always doing something to fall asleep, as well. I began reading some of my book, that helped a bit, but it still wasn’t enough. I began writing in my journal, because I thought maybe I was feeling a bit too stressed out about things. I started thinking about some writing ideas. After I released my thoughts, I just laid there, trying not to think about anything for a couple of minutes.

That didn’t work, so I put on my favourite show, Grey’s Anatomy. That is my comfort show, I must have watched it a million times already. And that seemed to do the trick.

Whenever I can’t fall asleep, I will try to do something productive with my time, instead of just laying there, tossing and turning in my bed. If that doesn’t work, I will try to resort into watching a show, or a movie to help me fall asleep. Or vow to myself to make an evening routine.

Day 13

I have always found that it is best, to get organized for the next day, instead of having to worry about it in the morning. When I was a kid, I liked to get up early for school, so I can read a book after eating breakfast. The night before I packed all of my notebooks, and text books in my backpack for school the next day. I also liked to plan my outfit for tomorrow. I like having peaceful mornings, because I found by doing these extra steps I am able to start the day off right.

Today, before going to bed, I will do something that will save me time in the morning, that way I can be more organized starting out my day.

WWW Wednesdays – October 21st, 2020

This is a post where I talk all about books by answering the following questions… Although I have had another busy week, so I have only finished one of the books I am currently reading.

  1. What have I finished reading?
  2. What am I currently reading?
  3. What will I be reading next?
  1. What have I finished reading?

I have learned a lot from this book. I am really glad I had read it.

2. What am I currently reading?

My boyfriend and I are still reading this book. It’s a really good Stephen King book. It’s about this diner owner who has a time travelling porter in the basement. He asks one of his customer to travel back in time to stop the assassination of John F. Kennedy from happening. We try to read this book every night before bed.

And

3. What will I read next?

Because this is my Grandma’s book from the library, I ought to read it fast. Although I shouldn’t have a problem since my mom and Grandma have read it fairly quickly. It’s a psychological thriller about questioning yourself about how you really know your neighbours.

Why We Should Make Resolutions in October

I’m not sure how many of you make New Year’s Resolutions, but if you do, here’s an interesting approach.

I think the perfect time to make New Year’s Resolutions is October, think about, you are starting a second month of changes. Perhaps you are a parent and you have children that attend school. You might not have had a perfect month of smooth sailing, because perhaps the children weren’t ready to go back to school from their summer vacation. But now that they have a month of getting into the swing of things, they are able to make improvements.

Another reason why October is the perfect month to start resolutions, is that sometimes January is too daunting, or too much pressure to start anything new. Most people believe that starting to make changes in January, becomes too pressurized. It’s almost like the time where you buy yourself this cool journal, and you are too nervous to use it because you are scared to make a mistake in it.

Another reason why October is the perfect time to make resolutions is that more likely, whichever country you are in, you are in the transition of welcoming another season. I’m not sure, but a lot of people do seasonally chores, so your house is already freshened up, so will you. The end of the previous season is the beginning of a new season.

These are my reasons as to why I think October is the ideal time to make resolutions instead of waiting until January.

I would love to hear from you! If you make any resolutions, what do you normally like to change? And did I convince you to make New Year’s Resolutions in October?
