Day Seven

I feel like what will help me create better results about achieving goals is by writing a blog post about my achievements every seven days. Every month I will be working on new resolutions.

In the past seven days I was able to keep up with some of my resolutions. Although one of my hardest resolution to do was going to bed early and creating a calming oasis before I went to sleep. I have been on my phone playing games or watching TV. The way I want to fall asleep is by tiding up a bit, writing in a journal, preparing a Most Important Tasks (it is a list of three things that I want to achieve before I leave the house) and then by reading for a bit Then say good night and I love you to my loved ones.

But on the positive I was able to get on the right track with eating better. I now drink tea with cinnamon and honey instead of sugar. My boyfriend and I used to add two teaspoons of sugar which definitely added up with all of the cups of tea we would have throughout the day. I read that consuming honey and cinnamon there are several of health benefits – strengthens immune system, helps with weight loss, boosts memory and energy as well as other health benefits.

I stretched this morning which is good because I stopped stretching for the longest time.

I am working on decluttering and getting rid of the things I no longer need. Last night I tidied up a bit before I went to bed. I’m slowly starting to do that more often that way I can start my morning more serenely.

I am also to change myself without wholly changing myself. I often say; “It’s okay.” after someone has said or did something hurtful to me. The same goes for when someone asks me if there’s anything wrong and I sometimes say; “Nothing.” even when there is something wrong. Some of the times it isn’t okay it’s just something I say to either deal with it on my own or because I feel talking about it would make the other party feel guilty about it. This is really something I am on working on because I have been saying that for almost the past two years now. It’s part of my codependent nature – which is something else that I am trying to work on. But I figured it would be best if I do it in baby steps.

So far, I  feel like I am on the right track but I just need to focus on my goals and not let distractions get in the way of my accomplishments.

Bedtime Tea

My boyfriend and I couldn’t fall back to sleep so he made us a cup of Bedtime tea. Even though we had it with milk and sugar we were annoyed that we couldn’t fall asleep so we didn’t re-brush.

I hope we don’t get any cavities because of it.

Sweet Harvest Pumpkin Tea

My boyfriend and I went grocery shopping yesterday. That was fun. i love going grocery shopping with him. I wrote out our grocery list and despite that tea wasn’t listed that didn’t stop me from going down the tea aisle. That was such a great decision!

I found Sweet Harvest Pumpkin Tea! I literally screamed and jumped for joy! I have been searching everywhere for pumpkin tea! My day was even more complete. Then my boyfriend and I also bought a pumpkin which we are going to carve later. Photos to follow.

We added sugar and milk to it and it was great! I was planning on going back there to buy ALL of the PUMPKIN TEA. My boyfriend thinks I’m kidding… He knows me too well. But I will still buy some more. You can never too much pumpkin tea in your life.

Pumpkin French Toast

I had breakfast with my boyfriend today, it was great as usual. Today we made Pumpkin French Toast.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 9 slices Texas toast (or other white bread such as Challah or French bread)
  • Butter, for griddle

Directions

  • Preheat an electric griddle to 350 degrees (a non-stick skillet set over medium heat also works fine). In a mixing bowl whisk together milk, pumpkin puree, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger until well combined. Pour into a shallow dish.
  • Butter griddle and dip bread into egg mixture (allowing a few seconds for it to absorb mixture. I also squeeze gently to soak the mixture to center), then rotate and coat opposite side. Transfer to griddle and cook until golden brown on bottom, then lift, butter griddle once more and flip french toast to opposite side and cook until golden brown. Serve warm with butter and maple syrup.

Him and I used Cinnamon Raisin Bread and since we only used five slices of bread, we decided to just add three eggs instead of four.

We also made Earl Grey Vanilla tea. My boyfriend makes the best tea. We added a little bit of butter to our finished product as well as sugar and cinnamon.

French Toast

My boyfriend made us French toast and peanut butter cookies for breakfast.

We topped our toast with raspberries, sugar and cinnamon. I also drizzled a bit of syrup.

He also made us a cup of green tea. It was a joyous breakfast. 🙂 ❤

Peach Mango White Tea

For those who don’t know me I absolutely love tea! Last week my boyfriend and I tried this tea and it was so good.

My boyfriend adds sugar, a lot more than I typically add (I guess we aren’t sweet enough – I’m kidding, we totally are.) and we also add milk. I usually don’t add milk and sugar to my tea but since my boyfriend does and makes ours with it I started liking it again.

Sleepytime Vanilla Tea

I usually don’t add milk and sugar to my bedtime tea but I did tonight. I added it to my tea after just remembering that I already brushed my teeth. So when I finish I have to re-brush.

Anyway I added a lot of sugar – not because I’m not sweet enough (I totally am by the way!) and then milk.

It was good, just not what I’m not used to.
