Day 31

It is okay if you weren’t able to accomplish all of your goals and resolutions throughout the month. It is not too late to not accomplish what you wanted to do with the year. Maybe you were just having a bad month, and didn’t have a lot of free time to work on your goals. But at the end of the day, it isn’t too late. There are some things that I didn’t have time to complete this month. And that’s really okay. This was just the first month of the new year, so there’s still time to make improvementd.

Let’s just try not to be too hard on ourselves. Instead let’s focus on what we have accomplished instead. We can focus on bettering on ourselves, and how we can improve our habits.

Today, I will not bring myself down, just because that I wasn’t able to achieve what I wanted myself to achieve. Instead I will use this as motivation to improve myself to work on my goals. I still have a lot of fun to work towards these goals.

Day 23

Something that I have learnt from Gretchen Rubin, is that she talks about the importance of what we do every day, matters more than what we occasionally do.

“What you do every day matters more than what you do once in awhile”

-Gretchen Rubin

What I love about this quote is that she talks about how important our habits are. I believe how we spend our days matters. How we spend our days, can tell us if we have what it takes to make our goals a reality. Do we prioritize social media instead of spending time working on our goals?

Even if we only spend 10 minutes of working on our goals, we can have a bit accomplished, than nothing at all. Good habits of setting aside time every day, is what helps ensures you that we accomplish our goals.

Today, I will allow myself to spend time on what I truly want to achieve. I will understand that how I decide to use my time, will determine what habits I would like to have. And these habits will determine whether or not I have the ability to make my goals happen.

2020 Review

In my opinion, December went by too fast, so it is difficult for me to pinpoint what exactly I have learned from December. So instead of writing a post about the things I have learned in December, I am going to talk about the things I have learned in 2020.

I have learned that I am capable to make changes in my life. I can leave things behind that don’t make me happy. For instance my job was not making me happy. I felt undervalued, and underappreciated. I knew I could something better in my life. Now I am focusing on the things that make me happy. Right now that is my blog. I still have a dream about becoming an author. I have been using this time to brainstorm ideas for a story, that can be turned into a novel, one day.

I have learned that memories are in our hearts, not in our things. It’s okay to let go of things. In fact, letting go of things, it can add value to someone else. This is known as the Subtraction, Addition. When we subtract our belongings, we have added more value of space that we can finally use for the things that add joy in our lives. I love helping others, so being able to part with some of my things, like sweaters, various shirts, I was able to help other people who may not have been able to afford these things.

In a pandemic, we weren’t missing the things we couldn’t buy, we were missing our families, friends, hugs. We were restricted from going over to other people’s houses. We missed out on birthdays, holidays, and other festivities.

From the pandemic, it also taught us that we should cherish every moment, and every person in our lives. We may never know when it is our last shared memory, moment with each other. We never know how much time is left, so it is important that we live our lives. We shouldn’t be wasting our valuable time on things that don’t necessarily matter. How many times have you told yourself, “I wished I had more time.”? Really look into yourself, and evaluate how you have been spending your time. Did you just binge watch a new show? All of those hours could have done something beneficial, like crossing something off your to-do list. Watching TV is cool, but it should be used as a reward for getting something done, not as something to do, to either pass the time, or avoid doing something.

I have also learned that it is important to make time for the things that matter. We should focus on the things like reading a book, exercising, and eating more healthy. These activities will add longevity, and keep your mind active.

I learned that is important to save up, and set some money aside for an emergency fund. Paying off debt helps, too. I have been making a budget on a monthly basis, which is really necessary to do, especially this year, and next year.

I have been having a lot of time to go after my dreams, which is something I take seriously. I can’t wait to spend more time making my dreams and goals come true.

As badly as 2020 was for us, I think we should also focus on the things we have learnt from 2020, and carry it forward to 2021.

Fortune Cookies

Hey everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend.

My boyfriend and I ordered Chinese food and my fortune cookies read;

“Now is a good time to finish up old tasks.”

“Rome was not built in a day. Be patient.”

I thought these were good fortune cookies since it is the last day of May and the beginning of June is on its way! I do have a lot of things I would like to finish up so it was really inspiring fortune cookies.

I’m going to make a to-do list and assign a day for each task to ensure that everything gets done.

Time is Valuable

I can be the type of person who arrives late which is something that I am trying to work on.

But today my Dad came to pick me up to visit my grandparents. I was finally ready to depart ten minutes after he arrived at my place.

Today, I will practice better time management to ensure that I am on time.

Little Miss Tardy Pants

My Lesson of the Day is going to be broken down in four parts because I learnt a lot today.

I actually have a difficult time being on time. Today I was late work, again! It was all good. But it reminded that I should have better time management skills.

I read that there is a study out there that shows that optimistic people are late people because they believe that they can complete all of their tasks before leaving to their next destination. They do this because they think they have enough time to do it all. Thus makes them late.

This is very true since this is why I am always late for things.

Phones

Ugh. My phone can be very distracting at times. Today I was talking to my boyfriend and then I ended up talking to my cousin. I should have been getting ready for work but I was too busy socializing to them and I thought I had enough time.

I was only ten minutes late and I felt really bad. I try not to be late but it happens from time to time.

I am striving towards having better time management and organization in my life.

Today, I will try to find more structure in my life. I will complete tasks without the company of my phone until it is finished. I will try my best to add more organization by doing a little every day.
